PRRO MATURE EJACULATIONS urf SHUKRIYA MEHARBAANI KARAM

PRRO MATURE EJACULATIONS urf SHUKRIYA MEHARBAANI KARAM

Thought of this mind blowing title, keeping in lieu the spate of strange sounding titles that one is getting associated with. The films that are releasing are Summer 2007, Via Darjeeling, Bombil and Beatrice, Mr.Singh/ Mrs. Mehta, Colors of Passion, The White Elephant. And most of them are Hindi films..

Summer 2007 released to an entire array of critics who have so complained of its length and its similarities to another mediocre film like RDB, which was for me just a long drawn music video which only sustained because of the genius of Rahman. If I had heard the songs I would not have said no to it. That was what was sad, because Summer 2007 is not an entertainer like that. Comparing the two is really not done. I personally thought that the wisest review was given by Taran Adarsh who did not let his personal angst come in the way of reviewing something. Isn’t that the way to be doing it in the first place?

Via Darjeeling releases on the 27th of this month. In fact there is a huge amount of confused activity happening regarding publicity. And as there are some ten main people in it, it is all the more confusing for the producer to accommodate so much talent, and the fact that they are not basically equipped with good organizational skills is really not going to be helping them in their cause to publicize this small budget film. I genuinely feel that people should make films only if they feel that they have the correct sensibilities of marketing also. Please don’t make movies if you don’t have money or if you don’t have the correct groups to really blast it down people’s throats. Nobody gives a damn about a good film in our country. But then exceptions are always there and I guess that’s the reason why some of us are still around saying that a hit does not mean it’s a good film. But then an art film also definitely is not a good film.

Me and Sandhya really complained about the fact that we are not being used in the publicity of the film which might really help, and to top it only a few people from the film posters actually took out time to do some good for the film. But then I was already smarting from the fact that the same idiotic thing was done by the people who were marketing Summer of 2007..And a few people who saw the film were genuinely shocked to see me and Ashutosh and Vikram and Sachin and a whole lot of more interesting people than from the first half.. I beg to really differ from duffer. Anyway all luck to these kinds of people in their next ventures, if at all.

The only non Hindi film in this lot is Bombil and Beatrice. If anybody wants to see the trailers of this film they just have to log on to You Tube and type the title. Or else you could visit the website which is www.bombilandbeatrice.com . I saw the film the other day and it is one grand affair, a love story which spans a 100 years. And it is a double role that I am going to cherish for a long time. Kaizad is really proud of this venture, and similarly we all are. Katie McGuiness, my co star is fabulous. In fact for a change, even Piyush Mishra is good. Don’t need to say anything about the music as it has been done by the little genius Rahman. Photography is by Trevor Forest and Jamie Fowlds and they have all excelled. Waiting for its release and I hope this time I am on the posters. Of course I will be, will see to it that the people involved in the last two films are not going to be anywhere near..

Mr. Singh/ Mrs. Mehta is another beautiful film that I am looking forward to. Directed by one of the oldest friends that I have here, Pravesh Bharadwaj, (no connection with the other Bharadwaj that we have around) this film is another rock star of a film and as there were some nude scenes to be done most of the Indian actresses opted out of it. Chickened out, rather and I feel it has happened only for the betterment of the film. I have known of actresses who have agreed to do things like that and at the last minute have opted out of it. Should I name them, Naaahh!!! Nude would be an explicit word to use as it did not turn out to be as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. Except for the fact that if they had more heaters on the set, it would have just been slightly comfortable, as I don’t think acting in 0 degrees without wearing too many clothes is a fantastic experience. Was just hoping that those scenes get over quickly before the camera sees the goose pimples on me and Aruna..I tend to get these gorgeous co stars all the time. Aruna Shields and Aroosah Hassan, both British Asian actresses have put in immense amount of work in a language foreign to them. I never saw Aruna having a blast as she would constantly be doing her lines, with a walkman attached to her ears. Gorgeous girl, you should check her website out in her name..Oops, Naved Aslam also is there, think just got carried away with some memories, good ones also. Will be writing more on this film in my next blog. The music has been done by Ustad Shujaat Khan and he has excelled in this film. If you need to listen to a little bit of all the songs then you must check its website which is www.singhandmehta.com. But people, you must visit Wales once in a lifetime where we shot this movie. Its gorgeous, though I can’t say things like that about the people one encountered there, not just Welsh but some Indians too. How I landed up doing that movie also is another story.

Colors of Passion/ Rang Rasiya. I have heard of some seriously good reviews of this film from a lot of junta from our indushhtry!! So am waiting to see it myself.. Am doing a cameo in this, my first real one, and hoping seriously that I am NOT on the posters of this one..A film made in English and Hindi about a Malayalee painter Raja Ravi Varma. Why did Ketan not take me as this painter is always going to remain a mystery to me. He could have made the film in Malayalam, Hindi and English, rite? But I have heard that Randeep is very good in the film, and I am just complaining because Ketan is family. So to end my cribbings he is giving me the most rocking part in his next feature.. Wish everybody else would do that. Right now the final mixing is going on and I am waiting for that to get over as he has promised a nice party in his house which I still have not seen. Heard it’s a beautiful house in Madh Islands. I have stayed with Ketan and Deepa when they used to stay in Opera House. I used to assist him then, but I still firmly believe that Ketan does not need any assistants; he is just a one man army. Rest of his crew could all be clerks..

The White Elephant, directed by Aijaz Khan has been one of the most strenuous shoots that I have had since quite a while. But in the same breath I would like to mention that it has been one of the most humbling one also. The previous one being Shadows of Time. You are generally used to bad actors under the 100 kg variety, and here is Devi Dutt who is walking tall at 3000 kgs’ and not complaining. So how could I have complained even if I had done half the film with a fracture in my left leg and a ligament tear. It was nerve-wrecking at times and there were occasions when I felt I could have done some serious damage to the schedule of the film because of some selfish people around, but then I have realized that I am not all that bad.. Guess my badminton background has infused too much of sportsmanship and fair game play into my life to be bothered with shit. I guess that’s why a lot of my so called contemporaries are watching my movies, and are slowly and steadily moving into the background, thankfully. Wish all of them a good harvest in their fields.

I would like to add that some gory details are going to be revealed in the next one which now that I am free would be coming up in a short while. So let’s all just chill in this monsoons and make music as I am doing. Its always good being with some real stuff and doing things that make you feel like a poet.

I loved Via Darjeeling. One of the best movies this year.

  2. G.K.Desai on July 3rd, 2008 8:55 am

I totally agree with you, today i saw “VIA DARJEELING” 4PM show at New Empire. I found the plot very interesting with a twist at the end, but prroshant u know how many were there to see the film only 19 persons, i literally counted each one of them in stalls. I felt so sad that no promotion and publicity killed it man. People say it is a rip-off of “RASHOMAN”, i want to ask these people how can they even think of comparing the Maestro’s work with arindam, less said the better. I found your role in SUMMER 2007 very interesting in second half and was pleasantly surprised to see you.U have a great voice man !!! Looking forward to your forthcoming films ….keep up the good work !!!

  5. kcp on July 3rd, 2008 12:34 pm

If one is related to the industry, there is no need ( all the time ) to praise the little one - Rehman. That RDB was a third class album. Also the background. For me it was sheer noise. It started from RDB and that guy is falling into a deep abyss ( I hope that JTYJN is the bottom ). Sometimes his mukhdaas are superb ( In Lamhon Ke Daaman for eg.) and the preludes/interludes and antaras are deep shit

  6. Tejas on July 3rd, 2008 12:52 pm

    Haha..this kcp guy is funny..

  7. S.A.M. on July 3rd, 2008 2:05 pm

  9. krishn on July 3rd, 2008 2:19 pm

entertainment or education summer 2007 is nothing b4 rdb…
    if rdb ismediocre film then
summer 2007 is really a bad film…its so bad till it shows the medical college campus…it improves a liitle once ashutosh rana cumes on screen…though he is so dramatic but atleast he acts…it becumes more dramatic wen vikram gokhle nd u appear on screen nd inspite of full drama it becums little watchable…then sachin khedekar cumes nd his acting improves little more…
height cumes wen sikandar kher calls police officer from ambulence…it was a khichadi film where cook cd not keep balance …that was so bad…
it seems dad anupam kher is busy teaching acting 2 whole of mumbai but son is not ready 2 take lessons from rich dad…
y gul panag is doing such films in begining of her career…she had got gud name in dor nd manorama…

  10. prroshant narayannan on July 4th, 2008 2:19 am

Am sure you have read a lot of Mills and Boon to have come up with such a polite comment. But comparing a movie like Shadows of Time to an Indian Mills and Boon just shows poor taste in understanding, please watch it again when you are not on something.SureAssMind.
And if I sucked big time in Shadows, cant imagine how big a sucker you must be. Please grow up son..

  11. kartik krishnan on July 4th, 2008 4:14 am

    prosshant …loved ur post …
saw shadows of time too …and was blown away …

waiting for more more more films of urs …

  12. ajay on July 4th, 2008 4:42 am

via darjeeling is a bad film with good actors.i am also waiting for mrsingh/mrs mehata…want to see praves film asap.

  13. ajay on July 4th, 2008 4:45 am

….it becumes more dramatic wen vikram gokhle nd u appear on screen nd inspite of full drama it becums little watchable….
agree with krishh observation…please grow up as an actor.

  14. S.A.M. on July 4th, 2008 8:52 am

If i m not mistaken Shadows of time was directed by some German director and some Eurpean film-maker making a movie on Indian romance is likely to goof up cos they end up displaying just the caricature without going deep..i have seen million movies based on similar theme which r way better than Shadows of time..and try to accept criticism in a constructive manner rather than getting all hyper and aggressive man!!…if u think staying poker-faced throughout the movie displays your acting abilities than u certainly need to grow up in terms of your profession.
BTW i am not really a hard-core romantic..in fact i m pretty much pro-violence and hence a fan of RGV and likes..so u can make a wild guess about my choice of literature

  15. Sulakshana on July 4th, 2008 9:12 am

    hi prroshant!
welcome back!really lookin forward to bombil and beatrice

  16. prroshant narayannan on July 4th, 2008 11:32 pm

i have no issues with criticism as long as one can come up with a plausible explanation. If I was poker faced in SOT, then you should have loved me as most of RGV’s stuff is based on wooden expressions which border mostly towards funny. But then Hansna Mana Hai.
if you want to see some of my violent stuff you can watch Chhal and Waisa Bhi Hota Hai- 2. It is definitely better than your cinematic “guru” lineage.

Thank you Ajay, and thank you Sulakshana..

  17. pc on July 5th, 2008 12:29 am

Hi prroshant.. first caught u in that Zee Tv serial with beena n all. what was that?? parampara?..even then ur performance was way above the ordinary. Baki if I can say that u have been wrong in the choice of movies..doing Chhal with that joke of a filmmaker Hansal Mehta?? career suicide man..lookin forward to more of ur work in mainstream..

  18. sukhlina on July 5th, 2008 12:46 am

Prroshant Buddy i think Shadows of time is romantic tear jerker non bollywood film— given applaudable performance.. Everyone has their perception, but you were in character what was required that is commendable.
    Keep doing well buddy… goodluck

  19. Shailesh Limbachiya on July 5th, 2008 1:51 am

@17 Pc, the serial was Parivartan.

  20. Mainak on July 5th, 2008 8:45 am

    Hey Proshant
I watched SUMMER of 2007 last week on a Pirated DVD & was surprised/shocked to see you in it. I thought it was a decent film. Its the 1st film to be made on the Farmer’s Suicides in certain regions of our country.
    Good Luck with your ventures.

  21. S.A.M. on July 5th, 2008 3:03 pm

If u talk about characters in RGV’s movies, alongwith poker faced expression they have something more called intensity which was clearly lacking in SOT on your behalf.. i have seen Waisa bhi and u completely rocked the movie and hence i was dissapointed when u were blowing your own trumpet w.r.t SOT…personally i feel (from whatever i have seen so far of u)u were brillaint in one of the episodes of Bhanwar where u played a character of senior who rags a student and the student ends up committing suicide…unfortunately i never gotta chance to see more of u other than that :(

  22. calamity jane on July 7th, 2008 8:00 am

    @S.A.M
well.. i guess stubborness about sticking to a particular genre of cinema dusnt necesarily mean u hav expertised what u call cinema… and essentialy an actor if he dusnt hav versatility he will just end up being a semi-idiotic pseudo like you…so when yo are criticising look at the bigger picture..prroshant is a kick ass actor..and shadows of time is one of its kind and thethrs so muchmore of him u wud c in the cuming future…hope u r literate by then…cheers..

  23. Gopi on July 7th, 2008 1:21 pm

I hate to add to the Via Darjeeling criticisms… i had huge expectations for that movie..
but really… in the end… why would you need three or four versions of a story which is ESSENTIALLY man gone missing… I mean.. the crux had to be a premise which was interesting enough for random people to weave out interpretations from…
PS: either the crux has to be interesting or you have to be Akira Kurosawa

  24. S.A.M. on July 7th, 2008 2:29 pm

    @calamity jane
If actor is talented or kick ass it doesnt necessarily mean that he/she is gonna perform well in each n every movie…and u call me pseudo and illiterate at a same time..You know it casts a really wrong impression of u and makes me judge that u r either a wannabe or female…if latter is the case then your opinion doesnt really count…i had heard a term zealot..u give new dimension to it

  25. prroshant narayannan on July 8th, 2008 12:16 am

    S.A.M.
There mite be people with different perceptions on a movie, rite? A few people like me as an actor and they have liked me immensely in Shadows which is not exactly your opinion. Agreed. But “wannabe or female” now completely does not justify any grey matter that you mite have. It is rather uncalled for,and the more people are going to read this, the more you are going to get flak for the kind of language that you are using. And I am sure you need to understand it.

Thank you Calamity Jane, but if the words had been slightly more gentle, SAM would have appreciated it also, but then he deserves it rite? Ha hahahahah hahahahahah. Thanks again.

  26. kic on July 8th, 2008 1:53 am

I thought Summer of 2007 & Via Darjeeling were both highly disappointing movies.

  27. calamity jane on July 8th, 2008 2:17 am

    @S.A.M
i guess its pointless arguing or visualising sanity in you. by far all of us have agreed to that thought.only someday when u will expand your arena of thought, may be your opinion would be worth giving importance.ya ,prroshant i still refuse to be gentle..he so deserves it…i mean just cant stand the sight of non intelligent , but a wannabe khalid mohammed…!!!!waise bhi, petty pests keep cribbing…

  28. S.A.M. on July 9th, 2008 1:43 pm

Now only cos i dun appreciate SOT i become wannabe khalid mohamaad…first off i can comment on ur gender just on how ambiguous and contradictory u r to your own views..u create a class of distinction between a viewer as being cinema literate or illiterate and than christine me as wannabe KM..guess what??..i can just picture u sitting in some uptown pseudo intellectual meets talking intellectual rubbish and then thinking of yourself as intelligent matured kind…and then u think that gives u a right to bully every person who contradicts u…SCREW U and ur bull-crap jane…if prashant sucked in SOT then no one can change it..i saw this movie with 6 others and no one even noticed him doing something out of the box let alone showing flashes of brilliance
    @Proshant
Dude u seriously need a wake up call…Waisa bhi was a good film but for god’s sake it wasn’t Satya..and u weren’t Bhiku Mhatre..i guess such things happen when u hv fawning admirers like calamity jane lolling around you day and night glorifying your so called impactful performances..it results in self-delusions which is really bad for still-struggling-could-have been-greats like you..and thats the reason i commented i m looking forward to see more of u…2 noticeable performances doesn’t make u a legend..waise bhi, it takes talent and not just big mouth to become one!!!

  29. S.A.M. on July 9th, 2008 1:47 pm

    @ calamity jane
By ‘all of us’ do u mean you and Proshhant or are u talking about bunch of pseudo cunts u been chatting up with …oh yeah the clique..HAHAHAHA

  30. prroshant narayannan on July 10th, 2008 2:51 am

I have not seen Satya, and I have only seen Bhiku Mhatre dancing on Kallu Mama. I really dont know what you are talking about.
SOT was shot some 4 years back, and that was the only movie that I did that year after learning Bangla as it was a sync sound film. There was a lot of efforts that one had to make to do that movie which had an Indian story but done with German sensibilities as far as emoting or presenting anything was concerned, and of course it was something definitely different from the things that you have been quoting. And I am extremely proud of that film as much as I am of all the other things that I have done.

And by the way you have got it all wrong. Only if you have a big mouth do people think that you have talent here, am learning it the hard way. So I am still new at it..

I appreciate the fact that you expect good things out of me, and i hope i can do something about it, soon enough before more calamities come in and you become more rude. And Puuhhlease do not connect me with comments made by people who think that you are a piece of shit.

    Cheers and take care.

  31. sharath on July 10th, 2008 4:49 am

    prroshant,

i liked your acting in chhal and mudda.
mudda is a very under rated movie and i think u were too good in it.
Chhal was amazing too as it had superb performances from you and KK.
Hope to see you in more commercial movies which are well publicised.

  32. calamity jane on July 10th, 2008 4:57 am

    @S.A.M
with all due respect to ur views on indian cinema, its a sheer pity, the way you comprehend a statement.aprreciation, intelligence, intellectuality, preference are terms well meant only if u feel it, coz they are heavy.and this entire site is not about wat u think of me, because frankly my dear,i dnt even give a damn.attend to the point in conversation.no one is trying to prove u wrong, but they just dnt feel u r right also.and stop calling pple by ur favourite adjectives which dnt speak highly of you.and as far as people lolling admirers are concerned,is it really a matter of grave concern to you who all are around prroshant or valuate him?why dnt you just stick to your coterie of comments,my friend?

and yes of course,by all of us,i meant most of the bloogers on this site and not the great souls u referrd..cheers dude..getta life…

  33. calamity jane on July 10th, 2008 5:00 am

    @prroshant
guess, theres too much of mud slinging going on around…beneath me to be here amidst a stinking dumyard..cheers..and as far as u r concerned, my views refuse to change..keep it up..

  34. S.A.M. on July 10th, 2008 2:03 pm

Now i see some humility…Modesty works on greater levels i guess..and thanks for letting me know the bit about being big mouth…well as an outsider i picture the person the way he portrays himself on screen or on blog…and i aint here to do any mud-slinging or to act rude…i said whatever i felt about your particular performance..May be i fail to see the efforts gone behind making a particular film or understand the nuances of acting but as a viewer i can surely differentiate good from bad..Well i wish u luck in your future endeavors and hope that the modesty prevails if criticism comes in your share.
BTW i always use to wonder why celebrities deny watching a particular film or even their own films..i guess its just a code of conduct or a statement to make in industry..But trust me watching Satya is a treat and you should seriously consider utilizing the precious 2+ hours to experience a masterpiece..i am sure u wont regret it.

  35. Debashri on July 14th, 2008 2:48 pm

I am really disheartened to see some of you running down Prroshant. The guy is a wonderful actor yaar! If you like RGV movies, please stick to them by all means. Its your choice. If watching Aishwarya Rai plan badly timed get-togethers (Sarkar Raj) when everyone around is getting killed is your definition of good cinema, you deserve to watch movies like that! Please don’t concern yourself with Chhal, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai or Shadows of Time. They might not be flawless movies, but they are a lot better than a most cinema that the public makes into blockbusters.

Every person has his/her own mind and hence opinions. But when you are talking to a person like Prroshant, please realize that you are talking to someone who stood out even in daily soaps!

  36. S.A.M. on July 15th, 2008 12:51 pm

Why dun u talk about Satya,Company or Shiva dude…y pick up worst from the lot..and no one’s running down Proshant here…in fact i have mentioned that i distinctly remember giving mind blowing performance in daily soap (Bhanwar) which i had seen some 10 yrs ago..its just that i could not find anything extra-ordinary about his performance in Shadows of time…..its just my personal opinion and may vary from person to person

  37. ashwin on July 15th, 2008 1:00 pm

    debashri…..

just like ur criticizing rgv and hit making audience for their poor taste in movies..everyone here has a write to criticize anyone’s work if he or she do not like it….

u need to re read the second last line of ur comment..

  38. kartik krishnan on July 15th, 2008 9:37 pm

SAM - i think ur point has got heard …i dnt think u need to ‘dhol bajao’ about it again and again ..

    chill

  39. S.A.M. on July 16th, 2008 12:58 pm

karthik i disagree…i can see Proshant’s admirers repeating like ‘purana taperecorder’ the name of only 2 movies viz; Waisa bhi and Chall…dats y i have to ‘dhol bajao’ or whatever to make my point heard..BTW a friend of mine introduced me to a pretty regressive daily soap which used to air on Star Plus few years ago named Shagun…i heard Proshannt brilliantly portrayed a role of vixen’s sidekick..Now thats something…I am told he gave Mandira of Kyuki fame a stiff competition..Now thats something to be proud of!!!

  40. Debashri on July 17th, 2008 11:07 pm

Its not about everyone having his or her opinions and voicing it. It is the kind of language that is used, that I have a problem with. Just because people are allowed to voice their thoughts doesn’t mean that they go overboard, that’s all.

  41. Fatema on July 25th, 2008 12:14 pm

    Hi Prroshant,

I have always enjoyed your performances be it on the small screen or big. Via Darjeeling to me was not much of a film, like someone said, bad film with good actors but I’d have to say this that I loved your performance the best (And this when I was rooting for Kay Kay all the while :)). Although in a limited role, you brought alive the nuances of your character and expanded the one-line character to juicy proportions. Surely a delight to watch!

  42. prroshant narayannan on July 26th, 2008 3:30 am

Thank you Fatema. And thank you Debashri ( how is the archiving coming along )

People who like me or people who dont like me have one thing in common. They are all passionate people, passionate towards something that we all are a part of and that is films. And am sure we all have our sensibilities rite, at least to the mirror that we wake up to every morning. As long as there is no issues on that, everything is fine.

I think I am a victim of this huge game of Chinese Whispers which is so prevalent around here, and people who are really not doing anything much in life do get into this mode as there is nothing else to do. I am in the pursuit of trying to put names to them, about who are these people, why they do what they do, and why should they in the first place, and if they are really concerned I want to advice them to talk to me personally than having a discussion with people who dont even know me. It just seems gross to listen to somebody who does not know you talk about something that you have not done with so much conviction.

    Any names ??

  43. Atul on July 28th, 2008 12:03 pm

    Hi Prroshant,

Great to interact with you on this forum. Carry on the terrific work. I liked ur work in Via Darjeeling, although I didnt really enjoy the film.

I had seen glimses on ur work in a daily soap, Farz!
U were mind blowing in there…
