Congratulations to Saurabh Shukla and his team for winning the best film award at the South Asian International Film Festival, New York! The movie – Raat Gayi Baat Gayi is Saurabh’s maiden directorial venture! Now my expectations are… way up for this one! According to Saurabh, the movie is tentatively scheduled for a release this December!

Do forward your encouragement to the Saurabh and the team, here or in any of Saurabh’s blog posts (Life is a fairy tale, First Film)

  3. Congrats indeed to Saurabh saab and the entire team of RGBG.

Oz- but RGBG isnt the directorial debut film for Saurabh Shukla.he’s already made movies like Mudda-The Issue (2003),Chehraa (2005) and also has completed another movie called I am 24 along with RGBG.

Mystery of a drunken night–the basic premises might have hangover of “The hangover” but the treatment and the consequences looks difference (can’t predict much from the trailer though).

        Looks interesting!

The film was written and made before ‘The Hangover’… That’s a direct quote from the folks at PNC. And completely different, lacking the silliness of the US film!

I’m also feeling the same thing… …BTW I felt Hangover was inspired by Devgn starrer Sunday…

Ha ha ha. Yeah they used Ropheus in both movies. If Sunday would have released after Hangover, poor Shetty would have been definitely accused of plagiarising.

Anyways, am thinking if the movie is a rip off of Hangover, it would not have won the award at SAIFF. Same scenario of forgetting, but I guess different purposes. Dunno why Neha dhupia drugged Rajat. Guess thats what the movie would be about.

ya..i also think it is coincidental…remaining part will be different…coming back 2 sunday I thought it was better than the golmaal series…especially irfan/arshad were pretty good…

    DAMN! can’t wait.
although i’m kinda sick of Vinay Pathak being indispensable in these movies. He should get more “Rab ne bana di Jodi” type movies, and leave these films for a while. Ditto for Rajat Sharma. It makes all the movies look the same.

Don’t want to start debate and I do understand showing respect is good. But “sir!!!”

      Sir

      noun
      Definition:

      1. title used before name of knight: a title of honor used before the name of a knight or baronet

      2. salutation in letter: used at the beginning of a formal letter to a man, especially one whose name is not known to you ( formal )
      Dear Sir

Sounds lame when we keep mentioning this in posts all over.

          Sorry bro,

It was a general comment on the way we Indians use the language. And the use of “sir” is not always easy on my eyes or ears. But that’s personal opinion and probably should have posted as separate comment.

Sorry if I pressed any wrong buttons unintentionally!!

          Cheers

  10. Congrats and all the best to Saurabh’s team. Promos look good.

Quite interesting to see Neha “Only Sex and SRK sells” Dhupia, become a kind of poster girl for the alternative/indie cinema in India.

Congrats Saurabh … great to know that the efforts are being recognised….

BTW.. I guess its just me… but somewhere I ve started getting bored of this alternate cinema as well… I guess its something only with me… but somewhere I have started finding these cinemas… the ones with Rajat Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Ranvir Vinay Harsh Chayya … all of them … kinda of getting into the same groove as KJ and gang or say a Mahesh Bhatt camp… of course they work together cuz they are comfortable with each other… but even the screenplays and stories are somewhere getting to a point where in I have started missing the “choti si baat” or “baaton baaton mein” kind of movies again … the kinds that these movies were filling up for me…

You may be right PS. They had that initial charm but it’s now fading. I was not a big fan of this cinema anyway, wasn’t that impressed by Bheja Fry et al.
