Rab Ne Bana Dee Jodi <=> Man Pasand/My Fair Lady/Pygmalion ?
There are speculations
that Aditya Chopra’s third directorial venture Rab ne bana dee jodi (RNBDJ) may have inspirations from My Fair Lady (MFL), the 1964 musical film.
Classic film MFL, was based on the musical My Fair Lady, which itself had roots in the play, Pygmalion, written by George Bernard Shaw.
Basu Chaterjee had also adapted the play of Bernard Shaw in to the film, Man Pasand.
Basu Da’s Man Pasand, was perfectly an Indianised version of the play. Man Pasand, though it also followed the same content as MFL but it was still different in treatment and thus it could stand as an independent film in its own way.
Though even star cast has not been finalized by now for the RNBDJ but media has started the speculations. And the only poster released by now does not give any clue that it may have anything to do with MFL or Man Pasand because SRK is looking in same kind of get up as he has been seen in all his past YR films.
Let us imagine that media speculations are true and Aditya Chopra is going to give a try to the same subject, then it will be interesting to see that whether his film will be based on the play written by George Bernard Shaw or he will set his film on the basis of earlier made films MFL and/or Man Pasand? Or his film will have only few scenes inspired by either play or any of the two films or it will be having mixed inspirations coming from all the three sources?
Its easy and economical to buy the rights of the play of Bernard Shaw than to buy the rights of making a remake of the films made in the past. If later is true then new film should look either better or different than the films made in the past.
Contrary to Yash ji whose films have been having indigenous format, Aditya Chopra’s earlier two films were having set up influenced by Hollywood films. Even DDLJ’s portion where SRK and Kajol travel through Europe was having many scenes similar to Bob Renier’s John Cusack starrer The Sure Thing (1985).
Now there is a lot of awareness and on going discussion about factor of inspiration, plagiarism etc so it will be interesting to see which way Aditya Chopra goes with his new film? YRF is one of the biggest banners in the contemporary Hindi cinema and buying the rights is not a problem for them. And there is no harm in making different versions of a subject which has wider appeal and can be adapted to different scenarios easily and at the same time maintaining the original spirit of the subject.
If Aditya Chopra’s RNBDJ has nothing to do with MFL or Man Pasand then also it’s a good subject for others to make a film again on the subject of MFL/ Man Pasand. This is the subject which works in every era with new but suitable actors.

Man Pasand is a good and entertaining film. Presently Rajesh Roshan is seized with the controversy of lifting some tunes created by some other composer but in Man Pasand he had given a wonderful music.
Dev Anand perfectly suits the role of a sophisticated, rich and arrogant Professor and so does Tina Munim easily fits in the role of an uneducated and poor young woman, who does not mind using foul language against her opponents. Girish Karnad in the role of friend of Dev Anand is simply at ease. Leela Mishra is good as always in the role of a Nanny.
But along with Dev Saab and Tina Munim, this is Mehmood who adds life to the film through his wonderful portrayal of the greedy father of Tina Munim. All the three actors help Basu Chaterjee to make a wonderful film.
Mehmood had sung a wonderful song in the film and this song is the most beautiful aspect of the Man Pasand. This is a rare song.
Kismat ki zeb mein angutha naseeb ka
Parh parh ke fail hota hai launda gareeb ka
Makkahn khane se mere daant hile jate hain
Makhmal pe chale to ye paanv cheele jate hain
Amdani hai cyphor makhmal kahan se layen
Aao sadak par baithein
Thandi hawayn hee khayen
Jindagi tera mera rishta kareeb ka
Padh padh ke fail hota hai launda gareeb ka
Kismat ki zeb mein …..
Saree duniya ke baap ghar ko chalate hain
Takdeer walon ke bachche unhe khilate hain
Jab beti hai kamao, beti meri beti
haath paanv kyon chalaon
fokat kam aal mile to
paseena kyon bahaun
kudrat ka hai ye karishma azeeb sa
kismet ki zeb mein naseeb ka
to phir kyon paisa kharcha karke wo log ko padhane pe
nahin padhane ka
wo logon kee kamai khane ka mufat mein
Song can be listened through the link .
Few other songs can be seen through following Videos.

How Man Pasand was different than English My Fair Lady, it can be seen through the trailer and songs of the Hollywood film. Both the films were made for different kind of audiences and hence they look different because cultures are different and hence characters are different though shades of the characters are similar.

If speculations are true and SRK has to play the character, earlier played by Rex Harrison and Dev Anand then no doubt this character of a middle aged rich, scholar and arrogant Professor of Phonetics, who loves his bachelorhood and enjoys the freedom of living away from marital bonding, opens a new opportunity before SRK and in one shot he may come out of his image of an actor typed in the certain roles of a boyish lover. Matured behaviour needed for this role may bring him sweet fruits at this juncture of his acting career.
In reality at present no actor among so called super stars (namely Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan) is able to play this character. Saif will be able to play this role once he reaches to the age of 42-43. Or bit older Sanjay Dutt and Sunny Deol don’t suit the role. Little older Anil Kapoor, though, may play the role. SRK reaches somewhere close to play the role of this urbane, sophisticated but cynical Professor.
Big banners will not give chance to KK otherwise he also may play it in his own way. He has an urbane personality and he is a good actor and thus can give new dimension to the role which will look different than the portrayals of Rex Harrison and Dev Anand.
In the whole lot of actors following were the actors who could do full jusitice to the role inspired by the character of Professor Higgins.
Motilal, Ashok Kumar, Balraj Sahni, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Vinod Khanna.
Dharmendra who has been very good and versatile actor does not fit in such a role. Some roles demand certain kind of actors only.
Dev Saab already has played the role.
If SRK has to play Professor then Kajol can’t play the lead female lead, earlier played by Julie Andrews, Audrey Hepburn and Tina Munim, as character has to be quite younger before the Professor. But if Anil Kapoor plays the Prof. then Kajol is a good choice. Deepika Padukone may be a mis-match. She has been a model and does not look promising for the role of a poor girl having a glib tongue.
Jaya Bhaduri (Bachchan) kind of actress remains the ideal cast for this role and her role in Zanzeer was not very different from this role. Tina Munim also had done her best in this role.
For the role of father of female lead, which was played by Late Mahmood, Boman Irani should be tried.

In any case Man Pasand/My Fair Lady/ Pygmalion provide good material for another film.

only SRK and anil??
chalo saif ka maan liya. par aamir/sallu and akki cant play this role??
or did u mean that they cant act at all?

SRK playing Prof. Doolittle???????Satyanash…beDa Gark and you really think he can carry that role? Amir could be a better choice…at least he’ll ably provide the seriousness and vulnerability to the character that it requires (though he’s become too much methodical these days). But SRK? He’s good only for NRI roles…and a far as I know he’ll be shown as a 40 yr. old NRI in the movie…so no expectations at all…same old YRF treatment.
A little more familiarity with literature and a little less bias would have helped you. Dr. Doolittle (a Hugh Lofting creation about a man who can talk to animals) had nothing to do with My Fair Lady or Pygmalion - that was Prof Henry Higgins. Henry Higgins had little vulnerability as played by Rex Harrison. In fact the SRK of Chak De could play this role to a T.
ven’t seen ny of the my fair lady or man pasand:(
njoyed the songs
Hey, Manpasand was my fav musical…it was amusing to hear Kishorda teaching Latadi singing…aise nahi aise gao:)…sincere performances by both Devsaab and debutate Tina Munim…but I think Girish Karnad was wasted in that role. Abt SRK playing that role even I am skeptical. But thanks for links RK Bhai.

I’m not afraid to admit I’m a big fan of Aditya Chopra. DDLJ is still one on my favorite films, and I actually really like Mohabbatein as well.
If RKji is “on the money” with this one, and RNBDJ is indeed an adaptation of MFL, I think we may be in for a treat. It’s been a while since such a classic story has been made in India.
For the Prof Henry Higgens character, I do agree with RK that SRK is a fine choice. I think Salman would have been an interesting choice as well. As much as I respect Anil Kapoor as an actor, I think he’d be just a bit too old for the part.
rafi return to devananda …….a gud article on rafii
Dev Anand who did not go in for Rafi ever since Gambler (1969) ? in which, too, he had just one ghazal ? returned to him after 10 years in the latest Man Pasand though in just one song, under the baton of Rajesh Roshan, with Tina Munim.

RK: “Presently Rajesh Roshan is seized with the controversy of lifting some tunes created by some other composer but in Man Pasand he had given a wonderful music.”
True that Manpasand had some nice original tracks like Suman Sudha, but even there Rajesh Roshan copied a few songs from the original My Fair Lady. “Rehne ko ek ghar hoga” was a straight lift from “All I Want”, “Hothon Pe Geet” was “I could’ve danced all night”
RK,
To me the biggest letdown in Manpasand was the Music.. The music was about average considering it was a Musical. It was a golden opportunity for Rajesh Roshan, gone waste and I am sure Manpasand’s songs would have lived more had the music of this film given by someone else like RD Burman or Salil da.. even Laxmi-Pyarw would have done a better job than RR.. RR compositions in Manpasand are as average as the film and sound forced at times.. Despite a hint of melody, they fail to touch the heart..
@Krishn - do you even know who Prof Doolittle was?

Hey Krishn - who is talking of SRK? You bring up Dr. Doolittle in a discussion on Pygmalion and My Fair Lady - that prompted my query. So take a chill pill yourself and stop dreaming of a naked SRK dancing for you. (1) he will never do it (2) you do not seem the kind who will ever be able to afford it even if he did. @DPac(1),
Ya Bunch of videos should help those who have not seen either one of the film or both the films to compare and then things are before each individual to decide and visuals are better than the words to say in such cases.

Only SRK and Anil Kapoor and why not anyone from other supar star list.
After seeing Rex Harrison and Dev Anand, certain images have been involved with the character of Prof. Higgins.
Problem is right age of actors to play this role. RH and DA both were much older than the characters age shown on the screen and its always a pleasant situation for any actor to play a character of young age than their actual age.
We dont have any other actor at present active in Hindi cinema who is older but can look like a man of age falling between 42-46 bracket, other than Anil Kapoor.
Considering his earlier two films Lamhe and 1942-A Love Story he can do this role and hopefully can do justice to some extent.
problem with our super star actors is that they all want to look very young on the screen because they are playing roles belonging to age group of 25-30 only.
and Aamir Khan though most competent actor of present lot other than Hritik Roshan, also falls in this category. Just recently he was playing a college passed out, who was still hanging around the campus, young man of age somewhere between 26-28 in RDB.
Is he physically and mentally ready to play a character having age between 42-46? and he really looks younger than his real age.
Only SRK’s age has been started refelcting from his face and especially after his hard efforts to make 6 pack abs which has removed a lot of fat from his face he has started looking aged.
This will be very difficult for him to compete with other actors in supar star category in the kind of roles he has been doing till now and this tough competition may accelerate him to take a high jump to come out of the fenses and do something where he can play with his acting skills. Character is strong and whoever will play it will eat sweet fruits. Its for a long term acting career.
@Satya (5),
If you forgive me and my analysis is personal and on the basis of hindi films only, Girish Karnad is not full time actor and he is occasionally fit in the roles which match with his personality and acting skill. For me his best acting performance was in Swami as a calm and matured husband of Shabana Azami and in this film he defeated every other actor including Shabana otherwise he has been only a tool in the hand of Director and Directors have been using him at appropriate places. His roles are almost similar and he has looked good in films like Ratandeep, Nishant, Manthan. Sur Sangam I had seen in parts and I have to see it full to assess him there.
He has a certain range and he can not go out of his range to lift a character. But if you have liked his performance in Iqbal then my POV will not go down your understanding. He was very average in both Iqbal and Dor.
His expertise are in different areas and he is brilliant there and even as a director he gave us a brilliant Utsava but as an actor in cinema he is quite average though better than Mohan Agashe who is also fit in certain kind of roles only and who has big name because of his other achievements.
For Girsih Karnad acting was not very serious thing. he did films mostly with friends. His main areas are writing and theatre and direction.
All his good directors of 70s knew where to use him and thus he looked good in those specific kind of roles.
@kcp(13) Jatin Lalit still give music as a team? they are separated now? is not it?
@Tony(17) Certainly MFL provides a wonderful subject before a filmmaker in any era and if s/he has got right kind of actors then this story can be shown again and again.
Any director needs an aged actor for this role. Anil Kapoor looks quite younger than many actors of belonging to his next generation. Agewise he is the most deserving candidate and he has two films to back his case. He has to look and behave more in anglicised manner and he does hard work .
If SRK wants to enter in to matured actor category he should arrange for a remake of this film and should do the role.
@Aditya(28),
Music is quite mathematical also. In your opinion how much percentage songs have been declined for you after knowing they are inspired from songs in MFL?
Are you not able to enjoy Hothon par geet equally or more than the song prseent in MFL? MFL does not have Lata Mangeshkar. Its songs dont fall in the category of hindi films songs. They are not prepared as hindi film composers prepare.
If only tune or piece of it can be a basis to make a wonderful song then all those bhajans played all around which are simply efforts of putting new words in to the same song should have been wonderful songs also.
Are songs in english and hindi films really matching with each other in different areas of music?
Have we stopped buying Lata Ji’s Shradhanjali albums?
85-90% Graduate Engineers dont qualify to be engineers because many times they have copied the assignments from each other? Or we all know that they all are capable to do these assignments but somehow they dont do.
:-?
@Pavan(29) RD Burman yes but Salil Da, I am not sure if he was as active or in the best form in 1980 as he was till mid 70s.
RDB gave many good films in 1980 and considering Jalmahal he could have given fantastic music for Man Pasand also.
But Rajesh Roshan was also in full form in those years.
I have never had any problem with Man Pasand music. First song of my liking was Kismat ki zeb mein. and I always liked clarity of vocals in the songs. One can listen clearly without paying extra attention to Charu Chandra kee…. etc.
Simple and yet rhetarical words. and they had Kishor and Lata. and in almost similar category which goes bit higher than usual hindi cine songs, like songs Kali Ghadi dwar Khadi etc I have been finding Man Pasand’s Sare Ga Ma simple and better in every sense.
Krishn, Thanks for video links and other links.
Aishwarya look alike link was good. Which film is this? cant recall myself.
RK,
Boman Irani could well be a suitable boy for Prof. Higgins.. are you only looking for a star appeal in Anil/SRK?
Pavan(48),
No a deserving candidate. as I have also listed Balraj Sahni’s name. He never had star appeal but very deserving candidate for such a role. Even his role in Seema is almost similar to Prof Higgins role minus the Higgins arrogance and eccentricities. Situations before Balraj Sahni’s character in Seema and Dev Saab’s character in Man Pasand are similar.
and Hindi cinema has been having existence of actors who could play lead roles (though at times they slipped in to character roles also) and those who always played character roles only. Balraj Sahni easily could transcend that boundary in his youth years only.
Boman Irani though very good actor but has no heroic appeal which is specifically needed in such a role of a charming bachelor. If we insist on making a out and out comedy film then its different matter. :)
Rk,
they all belong to the same age category except for saif. haan, that they ‘dont’ do roles to suit their age is another matter. the argument was whether they can (wrt to age alone). of course they can!… if only they would… :-)
for u shah rukh looks aged, for others he looks fit and young.. and shoooo chweeet (yeeesh!!)
Rk: You completely misunderstood me. I wasn’t implying that the music of Manpasand was copied and hence “bad”. If your sentence was reworded as: “Presently Rajesh Roshan is seized with the controversy of lifting some tunes created by some other composer but in Man Pasand he had given a wonderful music, although some songs were inspired by the songs from the original.”, I would not have commented. I read your statement as saying that Manpasand was ‘original’ which it was not. So it’s all misinterpretation of your statement by me, and my statement by you. :)
@Aditya,
ya I had got your full message through your comment but it was an opportunity to bring out some concerned issues. Sorry I forgot to mention there that they were general points though coming out through your comment. as It was possible through few people’s comments only. Pavan did not touch inspiration thing and opined his own impression but your comment was giving opportunity to express many general apsects of such issues.
and its always a better opportunity to know views of people, on such issues, who know music.
For years I have been knowing that Rajesh Roshan some times takes a piece of tune used in background music in some film and develops it further to make a full song out of it.
If you have seen Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove then you will find a tune is played there many times and that tune is used by Rajesh Roshan, years later in Baton Baton mein in the song Na Bole Tum na maine kuch kaha.
and Rajesh Roshan is not alone in this. Many other music directors have done that before RRoshan and after him also. If one can create original then I dont pay much attention to these things.
In present controversy also, if people think from all sides then it will become clear that when Roshans can contact Sony Ericsson for permission then it was possible for them to contact Ram Sampat also if Sony Ericsson guys had given them hints. Its always easy and good to pay few Lac Rupees than to pay a huge sum of 2 cror Rupees and that too after earning a bad image. Atleast Rakesh Roshan will be having this much business sense.
Its about knowing things at right stage. Many will be loving Biddu’s creation Aap Jaisa Koi meri——-(Qurbani) and will be praising it but its also not an original composition. Its also an inspired song.
@DPac,
ya you may say younger w.r.t SRK and with all due respect to him, his present face morphology is able to open an entirely new market for him as he can very well work in Chinese, Korean or South Asian films also as he has started looking similar to actors of those films with his new gym toned body and new mangloian features. His face has been changed very fast. His dimples are lost and he has got wrinkles instead. He looks more tougher now. Certainly he is more international in appeal now. Geographically he covers more area on earth now.
——
Any actor can act in any role but question remains if role suits him or role demands him?
In the story where it was the question to search the softest prince among three princes, can we take Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Hritik etc who all have gym toned muscular body?
With new explosion in information regarding cinema that era has gone when any actor used to play any role. Now if someone is playing an army personnel a section of audiences will be there who would be observing in very first viewing whether person has sufficient height and a physique required to play the role, (unless we are making an out of mind comedy).
If in a serious film, Rajpal Yadav is made an army officer then we have to know if he belongs to special regiments reserved for hill area people or not where little less height is accepted but there also some minimum requirement exists :d
@rextreme, sorry for delay in this clarification as I don’t have access to this comp on week-ends. It was purely by mistake that i wrote Doolittle…in my excitement I wrote Eliza’s surname instead of Higgins…but the moment I heard abt Pygmalion i remembered my fav actress Late Bhakti Barve who played Eliza doolittle’s role in its wonderful adaptation. It is considered as one of the best performances on stage. While remembering her I wrote my reaction and hence the mistake. Let me tell you every linguistic & phonetics includes Pygmalion in their syllabus…at least when I did my BA we were taught the play to understand more abt phonetics. But yes, extremely sorry for my mistake, next time I’ll be careful.
@RK
Any actor can act in any role but question remains if role suits him or role demands him?
well according to me any actor cannot act in any role. what makes u say so?????
@amit (56),
You are asking for the material suitable for a separate post. From my side I dont see any difference between what you are “quoting” and what you are “writing”.
If an actor has a limited range then his options in terms of vareity in the roles s/he does are also less but because s/he is active in acting business so s/he accepts roles coming to her/him and though s/he works hard and tries to give best input but it looks mismatch because role did not demand her/him.
we have plenty of examples all over the world to observe these mismatched attempts.
@Rk (54)
:)
lol… (that was for the SRK bit you wrote)
see RK, all I am saying is if they are willing to do the necessary to get into the character, (physically and mentally) lets say kamal hasan ka bhoot chad gaya sab mein, then by all means let them act yaar.
just by looking at them (and mind you this is with regard to just the said names) and saying they cant do it is pretty presumptuous is the gist of what i was trying to convey.
@DPac (58),
Its a good area to explore.
Specifically in the case of Prof Higgins,—–
do you wish to say that presently any of the actor among Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Hritik Roshan can play the character if they are willing (and with the help of good make up as Kamal Hassan has been doing)?
——————
and in general —–
Should I gather from your POV that you are saying if someone is willing to put on tons of make up to enter in to the right kind of get up so that he may look like a character then any actor can be taken in that role, given he is willing to do it?
But is not this hypothesis having support from the roles which require special get up, Like Kamal Hasan’s old man in Indian/Hindustani and Hey Ram? Or what he did in Naykan?
But what if we say he has to play Pt Nehru? He has to play the role without any moustache, any kind of get up, will we search for a look alike Roshan Seth or we will give this role to Kamal Hassan or Anil Kapur or if there is no casting agent then to Rajinikant? :)
But does not this POV simply avoid the need of people or special skill of a director to search for suitable actor for the characters he has in mind.
—————
Let us say, everybody is good batsman playing in a national team and going to bat at first 5 places but still they have fixed place and they do their best at those appropriate places (leaving exceptions). That is why we have specialist opening batsmen in all the cricket teams. They all know how to bat, they all are equipped with similar facilities or defense systems but still their talent is used at different places.
———-
Characters coming out of famous literature are like real humanbeing because they are alive in the memory of people and in such a case an actor has to match with that image of character residing in the minds of people and if some people already have played that character successfully then these attempts make the options even narrow.
Unknown characters dont bring this dilemma and its entirely director’s call and depends on his ability and if he is capable he will make his actor look authentic in the role.
———
Dont you have some examples where you have felt that this actor could not live up to the requirements of the character.
we know later that it was a wrong choice.
Rk,
as far as i understand Pygmalion is not a biography. its fiction and so adaptable.
my point was that, writing off the names you mentioned appears presumptuous that too without enumerating any reasons apart from the superficial ones.
i may have examples where i have felt this particular actor cannot act at all. :-) but that was hardly what u were trying to say.
if you tell me salman and akshay cant act, i would happily concede :-)
but this role seems right up their alley
RK - yes they have split. But it seems that Yash Raj were supposed to have given an opportunity to work under the name and something did not work out :( IMO they should make 3 songs each and submit to big banners and still use the name. It is a fairly big name even today, in the music circles. I am afraid than within a few years they will be wiped off from the memories of this FAST-FOOD industry
Pavan, I agree that as a “musical” adaption, the music was not up to the mark.
Having said that I simply love to “listen” to the song - Main Akela Apni Dhun Mein Magan
Sheer Bliss !!
I thougt Sonam Kapoor was playing the other role..
@DPac (60s)
Surely Pygmalian = fiction. I have not said = Biography.
Those examples were to say things in general. you are thinking for this particular case only.
I should also believe that you have watched both MFL and Man Pasand.
I am getting your POV but as people think differently and imagine differently I dont see Salman and Akshay, at present playing Prof Higgins “if its taken as same character as taken in previous two films or described in the play”.
and at same time if a character is created after taking macro inspirations from Prof Higgins then anything is possible.
For example: character is not 42-44 years old scholar and professor but a character of 35-38 years old rich person or corporate person and he meets a young girl who is less educated and have rural background then anybody in the present league can play the role.
and we dont know which way RNBDJ will go and how character in RNBDJ has been created so
so specific discussion is not usefull in this case but if strictly case is of Prof Higgins character as described in play and as shown in two previous films then we can discuss.
Generally in ideal case, a character demands certain kind of actors only. Leaving apart comedy films, No actor on earth has ever been there who could play all the roles. Everybody has a range and beyond that they look carricature of that character and not the character
——-
If we have to remake The Terminal, Govinda will be in top list but if character is of a Prince lived in London since birth and coming to India after 30 years then he does not qualify to play that character. Its simple, he cant bring fine nuances required to play that character and he is a very good actor. Its simply a mis-match and its not superficial presumption either. Its based on his past acting record.
same way past record and acting range of an actor has to be considered.
@KCP(61),
whom to blame for split in Jatin Lalit brothers than to their own nature? since childhood they must be knowing weaknes and strength of each other. They have been observing film Industry since childhood. they have seen rise and fall of their sister Sulakshana Pandit’s acting career also and they certainly know if they can progress better as a team or individually.
They are not unaware of the ways with which film industry works so if they are wiped off in few years then their personal egos would be there to blame.
Do we have any hit album from any of them after their split?
@Sameer,
yes news was there in newspapers that Sonam is also one of the possible actress who could be selected for this film.
RK @ 64
I have not met Lalit , but was quite close to Jatin ( during the phase of the split ). I have seen how shattered he was. I have seen how insecure he felt about his future.
Common. It takes time to heal the heart.
I am supremely confident about the talent of the brothers. One is an epitome of melody and the other is sheer technical brilliance. It is a lethal combination and ( as you said ) they know the industry in and out, and if they work out ( amongst themselves ) and give a combined album ( even after the split ) , I am sure the so called melodious numbers of ARR, SEL, Pritam, etc would be kicked out of the industry in a jiffy :d
kcp,
ya those who start as a team should be having capacity to dissolve their ego hassles without affecting their work. If they were capable to create individually then they could have done that since begining. Nature brought their talent out in the form of a team and they should honour that. and still they had name Jatin-Lalit and it was not that only Jatin was famous or only Lalit was famous.
When they can create good while joining hands then why not to try that. all other practical things can be sorted out when a bigger goal is there.
@ RK

rk i was talking about srk. go and check my comment

@RK
Any actor can act in any role but question remains if role suits him or role demands him?
well according to me any actor cannot act in any role. what makes u say so?????
————————-
what is there to check ? where is SRK there?
Yes RK. And as I said, now is the time ( I wish they had accepted the offer of RNBDJ ) If they dont do it now then they are finished. Lalit is doing a Shahrukh Khan production next. So he is getting into the groove of the industry. Jatin is, I am afraid, not doing much :(
Regarding sorting out issues, it is quite complicated ( though both of them understand that it is required ) :((
@Kcp,
Brother, please ask them to join PFC, if they wish to sort out the irrelevant problems occured between them. we will help in sorting that out. and once they address directly so many people in their articles and get huge response from their fans many things will be washed away.
it will help them coming out of the closet of unnecessary emotional hurdles. :)
@ RK
i was talking about comment no.

yeah but then u commented on that too..
@Kcp,
I sincerely hope Jatin Lalit come together. Their split is a great loss to the film industry and their fans like me.
Both of them do not access computers ( I know atleast about Jatin )…their wives participate on the internet on the fangroups :d
All I can say that it is a bit complicated :(
Its life…we have to live with it…
As I said in my todays post, of Pavan’s topic on 4 beauties, we music lovers are at loss when the artists do not perform, for whatever reasons
My biggest loss is that Kishore Kumar struggled from 1946 to 1952 and then films gave helping hand to his newly married life..continued making money for his future, gave superhits as an actor ( 15 jubilee hits ), music direction, production, direction, etc…and could not go full time in his “passion” - i.e. singing…and we music lovers lost the opportunity of his golden voice of the 50’s and 60’s…the music directors not using his golden voice when they themselves were in their prime.
There cannot be a bigger loss than this in my honest opinion….Its life !!! kya karein ?
@kcp(78)
Brother on a lighter note,
this much doing of Kishor Kumar is sufficient else from where we were going to take out time to enjoy his more creations.
we need to be Nawabs and Sultans who can afford to enjoy anything without doing anything.

Our own actions bring gravity and stop us to fly higher.
Its life… and there is a balance. and there is a limit beyond which an individual cant go in a certain field within the age.
@kcp
One is an epitome of melody and the other is sheer technical brilliance
Can you eloborate more on this? Who is who?
jatin lalit always gave gud music…:)
they shd unite again….
v ll b spared from nosy nd hairy composers who r busy in creating noise pollution:d=))
