Does seem quite different from standard Yash Raj-SRK movies? Looks potentially interesting. Liked SRK’s get up.

  2. Jahan on October 5th, 2008 1:49 am

SRK looks like Amol Palekar meets Forrest Gump. I like it.

  3. Tushar on October 5th, 2008 2:06 am

    pretty interesting.

  4. Arthi V on October 5th, 2008 2:07 am

Going by the title and this poster, it looks like a very young heroine falling for a much older guy played by who-else-but SRK.
Of course the twain shall meet in the end because rab ne bana di hai jodi…..

  5. Ria on October 5th, 2008 2:29 am

kya din aa gaye hain? Pa Chopra must be a sad man today. After seeing the first glimpse of “Rab ne bana di Jodi”, the first reaction of people is “It does not look like a regular yashraj film. It could be good.”

  6. Shekhar Shimpi on October 5th, 2008 2:41 am

    thik hai,,.
I’m fade up of these ‘panjabi panjabi’ of YashRaj

  8. ashwin on October 5th, 2008 3:23 am

    @ shekhar….
absolutely…i think there has been a punjabi overdose in bollywood…..some variety wont do any harm….

after all…u have many options to choose from in a multicultural country like ours..

  9. Jahan on October 5th, 2008 3:30 am

I’d rather see good Sarson Da Sag(as)from YashRaj than trash like Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and TaraRumPum.

  10. madhav on October 5th, 2008 4:03 am

It’s just a teaser. You won’t find this look in the movie. If you peel off the poster, you’ll find a typical YRF movie.

The clothes which SRK is wearing reminds me of those worn by Purab Kohli’s character in Rock on, in the scene where Debbie( Arjun Ramphals wife) tells him that he looks like a Gujju now.

  11. Anand on October 5th, 2008 4:36 am

    Looks contrived.

  12. Rasik on October 5th, 2008 6:42 am

Looks different. But, may be it is only me who feels this,i feel it is not one picture. The girl behind has been superimposed on SRK’s pic

  13. satya on October 5th, 2008 6:56 am

I guess SRK will find it easier to sell this movie than OSO…

  14. tanul on October 5th, 2008 8:59 am

Not bad..If you ask me…YRF hai to to thoda darr hai, but phir Aditya Chopra hai(Ican forgive his Mohabeetein) to hope hai..He is the only sensible amongst the Yash chopra camp..!!

  15. AngelEyes on October 5th, 2008 11:26 am

    haha
I can bet all my money that after half an hour SRK will get back to his typical ‘Rahul’ look. Remember Asoka?

  16. Jahan on October 5th, 2008 11:47 am

He seems to have two or more looks in the film… one of them is a spikes et al overgrown teenager look (not referring to the regular SRK look :) But this is the main look I believe… Not expecting half bad film… Adi Chopra seems to have turned smarter esp after BAH…

  17. facelikeprince (Sumit) on October 5th, 2008 1:04 pm

new look new blast…. waiting for december now

  18. facelikeprince (Sumit) on October 5th, 2008 1:05 pm

  19. Rahul Patel on October 5th, 2008 2:32 pm

    cant wait to see it

  20. Haseena on October 5th, 2008 6:40 pm

This looks pretty interesting…I am sure the movie is going to be great…and if SRK goes back to his typical look during the movie that would be just another treat for me to look forward to :)……cant wait until december

  21. Magik on October 6th, 2008 12:29 am

dis is da one to watch out for…
SRK looks as real as tushar kapoor in gayab.
    there is hope…
cheers to good cinema. SRK ROX!!

  22. Joyjeet on October 6th, 2008 12:33 am

I think this is make-or-break for YRF as well as Adi Chopra. Hope it will entertain.
For a change I’ll stop bashing the house for now & wish them lucks

  23. roodrow on October 6th, 2008 1:16 am

the poster looks promising, history does’nt…

  24. manjushaa on October 6th, 2008 1:35 am

I am nauseated by Yash Raj’s as well as Shahrukh’s personal PR. Shahrukh is looking as ordinary as ever but just because he has put on glasses and is appearing with ‘chapta’ hair, his fans may find it revolutionary. And even if they don’t, his PR guys will drill it until everybody starts feeling that way.

  25. Utpal Borpujari on October 6th, 2008 2:45 am

    very, very interesting, SRK’s look….

  26. Arati on October 6th, 2008 5:01 am

    I like it!!

And I can only hope that they are not trying deliberately to be different..

But then again, have always loved Shah Rukh when he isin’t Shah Rukh.. Swades, Chak De, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa..

Hoping to see a good film!

  27. kcp on October 6th, 2008 6:06 am

Wonder if SRK will have time. He has entered into the construction industry here in UAE. He has announced a prject of 2.2 Billion USD to build a “SRK Boulevard” - French styled living community, designed y SRK and some other guy, name I forgot. SRK says that he will concentrate on this project.
BTW in the poster above, I can see “Punjab” written on the scooter. This is the first hint that the movie is going to drag the same YRF-line

  28. kcp on October 6th, 2008 6:08 am
  29. Faraaz on October 6th, 2008 6:21 am

lol…well the look is definitely different…not sure if Aditya Chopra has the courage to not make a “Chopra” film!

  30. somi on October 6th, 2008 7:58 am

    eagerly waiting for december 12
    love u shah rukh khan

  31. Rasik on October 6th, 2008 10:36 am

    double role!!!oh no!!!

  32. Haseena on October 6th, 2008 2:34 pm

I think its going to be great, I dont see why people want SRK to change his look or the types of movies he does….SRK is what he is because of his “Rahul” and “Raj” look and because of the type of movies he has done….thats why he is the King of Bollywood….he doesnt need to prove anything to anyone…by now everyone should know he CAN do a movie thats not just a love story…so I hope he continues doing what he does best.

  33. Alexander Supertramp on October 6th, 2008 5:22 pm

Looks like a take on ‘LAMHE’ to me.
Yash Chopra tried a pretty unusual n ‘way ahead of time’
    concept through Lamhe in 1991.
I read,The concept was very close to Yash Chopra’s heart.
    Lamhe Bombed.

Now,i guess Aditya is trying to bring forth the ‘lamhe’ concept thrgh his vision.

    Just a thought…

  34. 32 on October 7th, 2008 3:18 am

    @ Jahan, post no.2
Can’t find better comment than this!!

Btw, who’s the girl behind him? Someone playing his daughter? :P :P

  35. kcp on October 7th, 2008 4:12 am

Yes comment no 2 was simply apt :-)

  36. aman on October 7th, 2008 7:21 am

I HOPE IT IS NOT DESI FOREST GUMP

  37. vishrant on October 7th, 2008 7:31 am

    forest gump
    .
basic proposition of forest gump is
that all human being are equal
even the retarted ones has the same claim on life
    as the normal people
    they should not be differentiated
    .
    this is socialism
    .
    think of it
    a socialist movie
coming out of a capitalist country
    becoming huge hit

  38. crazyrals on October 7th, 2008 8:14 am

for all u know, this may just be a dream sequence; or a nightmare probably :)

  39. adhik on October 7th, 2008 8:21 am

Ok, here is the story line…
SRK, an NRI returns to Punjab(Whr else in a YRF movie?)…he is a brat and falls for heroine..but she doesn’t like his flamboyance and actually hates him. So he changes his look and becomes a “seedha-sadha”–a la “Ramprasad Dashrath Prasad” of Golmaal. And ultimately he wins her over…seems a rehash of Golmaal with a twist…that is age difference….how original can Adi be??

  40. Ratnakar on October 7th, 2008 8:22 am

    Vishrant

If Forrest Gump had been in a socialist nation, he would be spend his entire life time, as a clerk or doing some desk job, or he would be classified as abnormal, and sent to a hospital.

And FG is not a retard, its just that he has a lower IQ. And honestly u ask me, i have seen people with high IQ’s speaking like total retard. After all it was a Nobel Prize winner who came up with the dubious concept of Eugenics, which claims some races are more intelligent than others.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Shockley#Beliefs_about_populations_and_genetics

The guys who created the notorious Death camps and Gas chambers were certainly intelligent. As did the men who devised Agent Orange.

Also for me FG, was more symptomatic of American spirit, where any guy can make it irrespective of his background.

  41. Ratnakar on October 7th, 2008 8:27 am

well regarding Lamhe, honestly i just found that movie way too over rated. Yeah maybe the concept was new, of a younger female falling for an older guy, but the movie as such was not much different from a standard Yash Raj flick.

Also the idea of a younger girl falling for an older guy, was already explored by K.Balachander way back in the 70’s with Apoorva Ragangal, which was a much better flick than Lamhe.

  42. Tanul Thakur on October 7th, 2008 8:40 am

@ Adhik: If ‘this’ is the story, you have just blown it for me. Shit. The story is pathetic, if it really is this. Though, too early to comment. Let’s wait and watch..!!

  43. Jahan on October 7th, 2008 8:50 am

@Adhik: Come on, I’m sure Adi Chopra isn’t THAT daft. Give him some credit…

  44. vishrant on October 7th, 2008 9:17 am

    @ratnakar
    .
if forest gump would have been in a socialist country
he would have spend his life as a clerk
    but
an intelligent person in a socialist country
will also spend his life as a clerk
    in spite of his intelligence
    .
    that’s socialism
    same for everybody
intelligence - low or high - doesn’t count
    .
    eugenics
    may be politically incorrect
but can you denounce the truth in it
that will make whole gene theory a waste
    .
only an noble prize winner could have the intelligence and courage
to propose something so obviously politically incorrect
    .
death chambers were creation of intelligence
    intelligence is a force
it works wonders regardless of the direction
    .
it is believed that charles shobraj could have been an awesome investigating officer
its the same intelligence only on the opposite direction
    .
this gives a thought that intelligence on its own
is not capable of judging good from bad
its the awareness (consciousness) that should decide
    .
that’s why old indian rajas has mystics as there adviser
    a raja has power
but the direction to use the power came from a mystic
    .
    american spirit
all america is concerned about is to make it
    make money
    that’s the measuring yard
every body is busy trying to make it
    and eventually frustrated
forest gump would have given them great consolation
    even he can make it
so don’t loose heart, go on try to make it
may be this can explain the huge success of forest gump
    .
and there is nothing wrong in it
    nothing wrong with american spirit
    i too earn my living

  45. adhik on October 7th, 2008 9:20 am

@Jahan: Come on, you still want proof for his daftness, even after suffering Mohabbatein?

  46. adhik on October 7th, 2008 9:54 am

Hey Tanul, I read it somewhere, may be in TOI and also saw his pictures with spiky hair cut. And yes, it will also have Kajol in an item song along with four other YRF heroines…now you know where everything is heading…same old Sarson da “saga.”

  47. Tanul Thakur on October 7th, 2008 11:54 am

@Adhik: I saw his pictures on Rediff(the spikey hair ones) but I didn’t know it was to support this - a very weak script(what you may have read could still be rumors, let’s see).

And talking about Mohabbatein, you take me down the memory lane ;). I was in the 8th class when I saw Mohabbatein and I was like - Bhe****d kya movie banaya hai. Mindblowing :).

Then, a couple of years later when I grew up, started appreciating subtility, also watched Dead Poets Society(even that was a lil’ dramatic but still..!!), I cried. I cried loud- Ch****a kat diya Yash Raj waalon ne!

  48. Deep Blue Lotus on October 7th, 2008 2:09 pm

Incredible. 47 comments on a poster.

So many fantastic articles on PFC dont get more than 10 comments if they are lucky.

And this one should make it 48.

  49. utpal datta on October 7th, 2008 8:44 pm

srk came to ADITYA group vis ASHUTOSH Gowarikar

  50. Jahan on October 7th, 2008 9:45 pm

@Adhik, he also made DDLJ, which was pretty modern for its time. Mohabbatein was terrible, yes. But then he’s singlehandedly turned Yashraj nto a power brand, and I’m sure he’s moved with the times. He also wrote Bachna Ae Haseeno recently, and that wasn’t half bad. Hope I’m not proven otherwise. :)
