I saw the trailer with the volume turned off, and liked it a lot. His camera is not merely a viewer unlime ost of the directors here, it oozes energy in this trailer. But, I’m repulsed to hear Jana Gana Mana tweaked in name of some ‘in to your face truth’. We all know the end RGV, but why have your means to reach the same has become so whorrish?

P.S: Leave my National Anthem alone.

    ` Frustrated, Loser, Emotional Indian.

In past, whenever I said “RGV is back,” I was gravely disappointed. I really liked the trailor…its hardhitting, lyrics are absolutely apt to the current state of the nation…but since th egeneral asumption is that the movie is against media I can sense and see all negativism comming its way even before its release. I don’t see anything wrong in using the National Anthem, especially when its voicing the reality…its done aesthetically…its RGV’s badluck that media is full of retards who can not see a movie as a movie alone. God help RGV…all the very best to face negative propaganda from media…your time starts now…

I quite liked it…and thought it was smartly done.

I also don’t have a problem with anyone tweaking a national anthem…it’s usually just a song about your country being the ‘chosen one’, that can’t be understood by the average citizen anyway…only to be sung by school students everywhere everyday in the bloody scorching heat.

I’m excited about this one…though looking at RGV’s recent form, maybe I shouldn’t be.

OK, after I recovered from seeing Rajat Kapoor AND Riteish (is that the latest spelling of his name??) Deshmukh in the same film, I actually enjoyed the trailer. The website for the film has an interesting Press Kit, with the lyrics of the Anthem translated for those of us who can’t keep up. And a few interesting comments from the public at large about the evil media. It’s a promising film, but I’ll have to wait to see it to make sure it comes through on its promise…

This is for those who have felt insulted in using our National Anthem as the base lyrics of the song:
If you people are so much worried about the National Anthem, then first come out of your closets and start building the nation, bring up a revolution and stop the uncouth fanatics to even crawl on this earth. If directors are playing their part in making movies that somewhere inspires us then what’s the heck in it. Here we have a system that keeps bouncing back time and again over those who try to depict what they feel. Now if you argue upon their views, when will you act upon your words; when? Its time to stand face-to-face in front of the fact; a fact that the whole nation is being suppressed, and we just stand and stare helplessly. To criticize the usage of National Anthem, we should first strive to walk our talk for the basic essentials for building up this nation. Only by singing our National Anthem or mere spraying comments over its use wont do good, rather it might shut the rays of a visionary-in-making, somewhere standing among us.

For all those who feel offended by the national anthem usage,”Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people” is what the first line of our national anthem means and i think what rgv’s trying to symbolize here is how the nexus(battle-rann) between media, government bodies and business world converge to play on the minds of the people for their own personal gains.
For long i have been horrified by the kind of stuff shown by the media, mainly the news channels making breaking news out of the bull crap stories(prince, baaz udaye bakri(eagle flying off with a goat(for god’s sake)),parties having their own propaganda through media discussions on news channels, what are they coming to??barring a few ones(times now, ndtv) there are few who are just making money out of bull crap.
Its high time we had someone portraying this finally (except for movie “breaking news”) and i am glad rgv(the other one could have been Madhur Bhandarkar, ramu’s assistant at a point of time) is the one to take the mantle knowing the kind of hard hitting cinema he WAS known for(Satya-raw,hard hitting,Sarkar). And nobody uses the camera angles better than he does for that WOW! and ‘over the top’ factor needed for topic like news channels.
I know he does go overboard most of the times with cashing in on some ‘real life based’ stories, but i think the trailer looks promising enough and i hope he does not disappoint like the last few movies.

    @Tapan
I don’t think people are offended by the use of National Anthem as much as they have been offended by it’s use for commercial and box-office purpose and it’s use as a tool to rake up controversy as many people think and rightly so that publicity whether good or bad is good for your film.

Vande Mataram has been used umpteen number of times in movies but it has been done keeping a perspective in mind and most definitely not as a launch pad to increase your profits .

Although It would be judgemental to say that Ramu’s motives are purely commercial, his recent box-office record and his behavior at the Taj Hotel doesn’t speak volumes for him.

Using Jan Gan Man also indicates a certain laziness that most biggies in Bollywood have…which is to get maximum effect with minimum effort , if you want hard hitting lyrics why can’t you adapt poems by Nirala ,Sukanto and others and
Why on earth can’t you take Piyush Mishra as your lyricist ?
But no …RGV chose the easiest way out into limelight ,take the National Anthem and tweak it ,it would ensure that he gets all the TRP’s with minimum effort from his PR machinery ,so much so for making a movie which shows the true face of media ,when you are indulging in such shameful tactics yourself.

Hey Vineet i truly agree with you,i had forgotten about the whole Taj Hotel episode(which really pissed me off),i used to be a rgv fan(and a part of me still is because of the kind of cinema he was associated with) at a point of time and while watching the trailer(without vol.) that took over may be.Although i dont know much bout nirala, sukanto(which i am going to find out now that you have lemme know),i am a huge fan of piyush mishra(the cynical and satirical leanings of his lyrics towards world politics and everything else in gulal were brilliant).

For those who say that Mr. Verma tweaked the National Anthem for the a box office high, i wud suggest them to stay aloof and get lost forever… For Ramu is one of those few directors who hav the guts to speak rite on your face, rather subliming the content and getting away with kudos 4 an attempt that may be forgotten… He is definitely a visionary and he’s a director who started to make films in the format which West used for its films, way before any of our so called mild directors cud ever imagine… Give him the reign and he’ll ruin the entire curtain of simplicity of the system and lay the lower crust of malicious slice open to all… But who in this world can take a stand for a director like Ramu… Dudes, its time to get real, not blankly emotional…

    Okay this is ridiculous.
I dont care about the use of the National Anthem, but the lyrics dats hes tweaked are so amateurish its almost funny. The expressions on the actors face…well if Amitabh Bachchan can look like a fool I dont blame the rest of the cast..the most unimportant cast ensemble in a long time I must say.
Expect Monish Behl to look of of place, Expect Riteish to have one single expression, Expect Amitabh to be loud and garrish as usual. N guys these r not great camera angles at all. The problem with RGV is that his use of unconventional camera angles seems like a forced compulsion rather than a storytelling demand.
Trailor is full of Gimmicks. Im staying away from this movie…anyone wanna join the gang? Im passionate about cinema but I aint stupid

It’s not about being emotional ,PFC has no place for hero worshipping ,you get kudos for an effort which is good and draw flak for something which is bland and pathetic.

Satya may have been the best thing to happen to Indian Cinema but Ramu has been getting desperate of late and he is running out of ideas ,Sarkar Raj II showed that ,he banked more on the star power of Bachhans rather than the movie itself ,past glory cannot be a substitute for success in the present.
We all know how bold RGV is ,he gave chance to people like AK ,Sudhir and others which is a statement in itself ,everyone wants his comeback ,but certainly not in this fashion.
