This is an open letter for our respected Member of Parliament

Sach ka Saamna Respected MP Sir ,

Have you really run out of issues . That too at a time when problems like floods , power & water shortage , kidnappings , terrorism , murders & Global recession has plagued the country . There are umpteen problems that the country is facing & all you have to discuss in the Parliament are  T.V. shows & their so called effects on Indian culture . Is it the parliament or some family dinner table sessions where T.V. shows are being discussed .Instead  of wasting the precious time of the Parliament , why not discuss such issues in private rallies or complaining to the I & B Ministry .

Taking into consideration that you might have a point ,let’s investigate the validity of the arguments . Now I do believe most daily soaps are regressive in nature & take the Middle Class India back to the cultural backwardness especially women who are glued to Idiot Box & spent their entire evenings watching them . But the 2 shows that have been presented as problem makers by you people Sir are Balika Vadhu & Sach ka Samnaa .

Balika Vadhu a TRP topper has been blamed as a show which glorifies Child Marriage . I do agree with that point to a certain extent as the show has been extended way too long . This long journey seems to have taken the show away from the message of anti child marriage that the creative team had started out to depict in the initial episodes to now ,unintentionally glorifying that very practice .

While I do agree with the points against Balika Vadhu , I completely oppose that a show like Sach ka Samnaa is a hindrance to the Indian Cultural system . How can telling the truth effect the Indian Cutural system that too when we revere a man who stood for the truth as ‘The father of Our Nation’ . Is our Culture so fragile that it can be shaken by a mere T.V. show . I don’t think so , Sir. Plus the participants already know what they are getting into & what kind of questions will be asked when they go through the polygraph Test . So , they are ready to confess the lies & truths of their lives without any external force excreted on them .The Democracy of Indian Constitution allows them  to do so .

In fact I might suggest that you & your minister friends as well take part in this show .Being public servants & representative of your chosen  constituency  we have the right to know wether you have performed your duties with honesty or not .So ,are you brave enough to do so like the participants who bravely choose to tell the truth by participating in the show . I don’t think so ,sir . Perhaps this is the reason  you  have been affected by the show as it has shaken the very comfortable diplomatic lies (oops sorry ) Lives that you enjoy so far & fear being called upon by the citizens to participate in thev show  .

As far as reality show being threat to Indian Culture , I do agree with that point as far as one reality show is concerned , the Biggest Reality show of all which takes place in the Parliament or assemblies of our country from speaker being slapped , to chair being thrown at each other ,  to slogan being shouted , to of course T.V. shows being discussed . This one has turned out to be the father of all reality shows  where we see respected ministers showing such behavioral attempts that shame the entire country & let other countries laugh at us .

Sir , this is in no way a letter to undermine your role as an M.P in development of your constituency . But I do request you watch T.V. less as my mom used to tell me when I was a kid – watching too much T.V.  affects your eyes .

Yes timely post. Last week I was watching a debate where 2-3 politicians and some other cultural leaders( one being Smriti Irani ) debating over this same matter, all fired-up over such a trivial matter..As if everything else happening here is in true accordance with our culture..

one old guy(sorry i donno his name) was telling, pumping his fist,”The people will react, Mind you, against this show” ..Was idiotic to say the least..

U got to ask these guys to learn to behave and speak properly..before criticising TV shows..

Funny! How politicians think. The views expressed in this article are so logical, so popular, so true and thus so cultural! I mean every citizen of India will not have any problem in accepting these views. But politicians? they think different. I don’t get why politicians always think against the logic and against the progress. I don’t think ‘Sach ka Samna’ is a great show, but it is watchable, at least not opposable.

well PFC readers will come up and support the views in this article. we will pat our back for expressing our support against the system and will think that’s enough of our activism, lets move one make movies, get indulged into something more meaningful, like art or something!
