It’s IN!!! Though not much of a trailer but rather a teaser without any look into the movie… but I’m pretty darn excited to get something in motion from the Shimit Amin and Jaideep Sahni Combo…

Simple and experimental trailer. Launching of the product by Salesman. Consume the movie if not enjoy cinema

Ranbir Kapoor has already knocked the door with “Wake Up Sid” and Jhalkiyan of “APKGK” and “Rocket Singh Salesman” are suggesting clearly that he is about to ARRIVE in a proper way. His time has begun.
A young Star-Actor has appeared in Hindi films.
loading...
Are you his father Chintujee?
loading...

loading...
@Ajitesh, RK is not Rishi Kapoor
but yes, Rishi Kapoor is the father of Ranbir. RK, you are famous!
loading...
He is famous of course. For some he is Rishi Kapoor and for some he is the director Rajkumar Gupta.
loading...
oye ye Rk wo “Aamir” ka director Rajkumar Gupta hai kya…
Impossible.. This one is too simple to be a director…
See Director hone ke liye kaafi kameena hona padhta hai….
Kyon Director bhaiyyon mai theek bol rahi hoon na???
loading...
Sahi bola…
loading...
@Rk … even i thought you were rajkumar gupta… aren’t you?
loading...
Aaye din Bahaar Ke for Ranbir Kapoor. The trailer looked good but wasn’t pleased how he categorize the boring guys.
loading...
Was not Jaideep Sahni a computer Engr. before joining films?
A major portion of creative farming or say bagbani on Internet forums is done by Engineers (Including PFC)
loading...
Didn’t know this about Jaideep Sahni. OK then I think he put this in the character of Pravin Dabas in KKG. He was wearing an IITD T-shirt as well.
.
Yup that’s why it made me furious.
loading...
Yes RK. To my knowledge Jaideep did his Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Delhi.
loading...
I did some googling and got the information that Jaideep studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya at IITD campus till Class X. Then DPS RK Puram and after that he did his Engineering from Bidar, Karnataka.
loading...
I believe Shimit Amin is a medico.
loading...
Shimit has done his degree in Maths from Unviersity of Florida ….
..this story was abt shimit or someone else i dont remember properly …
.
.
though long time back i had read this false story somewhere that shimit was an architect ..he was suppose to design the “factory” office for RGV and RGV got so impressed with his work that he offered him a film
loading...
So basically both are “Factory” products!
One of the RGV kinds and the other of the DPSRKP kinds…..
sorry could not resist that joke
loading...
one word to desrcibe promoe and that is BOOOOOOOOOORING :banginghead: :banginghead:
IMO ranbir is not very good actor right now and he lacks charima for role like these
I wonder someone like akshay kumaar (SIK) would have been much better choice or even abahy deol(OLLO)
loading...
@RK sorry to disapoint u but Ranbir will not Arrive yet
see problem i find with ranbir is he very REPETITIVE from saawriya to this movie he hasnot expreimneted with his perfromances
Only Rajniti looks intresrting rol for him but his other movies have him same old cookie cutter lover bory image
loading...
challe….He has immense potential like his dad …
Rishi was always this cool cat who matched even BIgB’s performances in his own charming style …
Actors who pull of lover boys…need an outlet to showoff thei other sides as well..
This bloke is definitely talented..
Bus ise johar dikaane ke der hai !!!
loading...
Rishi actually was one of the more underrated actors for me. The Lover Boy persona overshadowed some of his better work, Doosra Aadmi, Zehreela Insaan, Ek Chadar Maili Si.
loading...
Actually “Zehreela Insann” was a remake of great kannada film called “Nagarhaavu” directed by Puttanna Kanagaal and Vishnuvardhan did the main role.
loading...
A strictly ok teaser. But this is a Shimit Amin movie. Will definitely watch it. And i think Jaideep Sahni has again got a conman script.
loading...
Love Jaideep Sahni’s body of work. Amin is no special talent though. But, after Wake Up Sid, am looking forward to this one!
loading...
That’s not fair. How much of Amin’s work have you studied in depth to pronounce that. Ridiculous a statement
loading...
Of course saying that Shimit Amin is no special talent is not correct. His directorial skills are much above the ordinary, as has been proved by both ATC and ChakDe. However in my book Jaideep is a much bigger talent than Shimit and i respect Jaideep’s creativity much more.
loading...
TT bhai…
ab tak chappan aur chak de flukes the kya?
ur stmt not fair at all
loading...
Um, may I add as a ‘Director’? Ab Tak Chappan was good, nothing taking away from Amin. But, Chak De was full of cliches, predictable and bland. It aint a bad movie in my book, but not above average that wants me to look forward to his next movie. Jaideep might share the blame for Chak De’s flaws, but then he has given two gems in Company and Khosla Ka Ghosla.
loading...
Anything popular does not need to be labelled .. bad technically … Chak de … .was full of cliches … however there was much more to he movie .. i for one loved the editing … and extracting that kind of performance from all first timers is an achievement in anyone’s book … Shimit AMin’s first ATC .. .is reason enough to believe in him till he time he does a debacle like RGV ki AAG
loading...
It has become a cliche to call a sports movie cliche.
loading...
What are you saying. His Ab tak chappan and Chak De arent proof enuff???
loading...
baapre… the IIT jing was thoda taking aback even for a non IITian like me… nonethless… picture hai bhai…
loading...
great concept for a trailer… Bt went for a toss because of such crappy execution. This explains how such a good concept can run down the drain jus cos of thoughtless execution!!!
loading...
I think IIT/IIM was a dig at Aamir’s film 3 Idiots which is based on IIT/IIM’s and is releasing around the same time (Not sure though).
loading...
Chetan Bhagat has made his writing career on these guys and this man is saying them boring.

Though, CB has added too much masala elements in it.
.
Three Idiots is not entirely based on that as far as I know.
loading...
3 Idiots has a bit of FPS in it, Aamir’s flashback story part.
FPS though was pure Bollywood masala. I mean our guy falls in love and sleeps with the Professor’s daughter, aur kisi ko pata nahin chalta. Did not really venture to read other CB books.
loading...
Dearth of girls in the colleges doesn’t mean that people hang around with prof’s daughters.

Only read his first 2 books. Both were masala potboilers.
Chetan Bhagat once came in my then college, people flocked around him like bees. I wasn’t even remotely interested. Didn’t go to see his face.
Though the books being masala stuffs, it seems like he also has put a few layers in it. When asked why the three friends in FPS are Mechanical Engineers he told that they are like gears which cannot function independently like the friends.
loading...
Of late he has taken on the role of “Agony Uncle+Resident Intellectual+Columnist”, writes regularly in TOI,wish he had stuck to books.
loading...
Sahil- 3 Idiots is releasing on Dec 25th & Rocket Singh on 6th Nov.I dont really think it was meant to be a dig on Aamir or CB or FPS.Basically we all like the underdog, the common man to win & thats the sentiment that Rocket Singh is trying to play on.After all how many graduate from the premier institutions in the country?just a handful compared to the rest of the crowd right?
loading...
Sorry the release date is indeed in Dec ( close to 3 Idiots )- I was confused between the release dates of Rocket Singh & APKGK ( both being Ranbir movies).
loading...
@Ratna sir.
Ya. Read his take on austerity and Gandhi on Oct.2 after that I switched to “The Hindu”.
Also he starts his books with numbers. 5, 1, 3, 2, next number of this series…?
loading...
“Also he starts his books with numbers. 5, 1, 3, 2, next number of this series…? ”
7 Habits of Highly Effective Losers.
loading...
Nice one sir.
loading...
You’re in form today !
loading...
CB’s books are outright masala… they are basically a refined english version of ‘manorama’ making 7 page stories into a book … One Night was still okay, 3 greatest mistakes of my life was almost one of the biggest mistake of my life… I almost bought the book, and then thankfully a friend lent it to me…..
loading...
Hehe..someone who thinks One night was an okay book!!! :witsend:
loading...
@ tejas …mummy taught me not to be very bad to people :glasses:
loading...
@RS
5,1,3 hahahaha…. I just passed this off to some of my IIT/IIM friends as a Mensa puzzle….
@Tejas I agree :witsend:
3 Mistakes of my Life epitomises “MASALA”… It’s almost as if CB was checking Bollywood suitability before every word he wrote.
loading...
Love the analogy man !!! Havent read any of CB’s books but knew a guy from the same batch who hated him
Loved the 30-40% line in the trailer….
Nerds and geeks can be awfully boring ..used to be a part time one…my best friend was not one and had the best life till date.
aadmi ko zindadil hona chahiye
zindgi sawar jaati hai
loading...
hehehe..thoda thanda tha teaser..but nice to put a trailer
..i always eagerly wait for Shimit Amin, Jaideep and Chandan Arora’s movies…when is Striker releasing???????
loading...
as I thot after Wake Up Sid..ranbir kapoor is takin the right baby steps & this looks as interesting as APKGK..lookin forward
loading...
rishi was also average actor i never considered him that much of an actor. Watch sunny tottaly overshadoing him in his 30 minuture role in Damini
that says allot
loading...
Forget the “sweater uncle” days of Rishi Kapoor. he was on declination those days.
P.S. What was the period of Rishi Kapoor then? I mean Mithun was also making hey in 80s. Seems like Rishi was always there behind the stars of those particular decades, never got the limelight.
loading...
@Jahan
Rishi never dominated a particular period. But i could say his best performances came in 70’s and 80’s. I recall Khoj, where he played a role with grey shades, really good performance, and one of the decent ones in the 80’s. Also another was Ek Chadhar Maili Si, really good movie, and Rishi’s performance was good in that too. In 1992, Deewana and Bol Radha Bol went on to become hits, and that put up his “Sweater Uncle” image, he was just going through the motions there.
loading...
Rishi was like SRK of those days… the smart suave loving romantic actor, but those were not the days for such movies… those were the days movies meant watching Bachchan and gang takin your frustration out by beating the pulp out of the ameers/desh ke bhakshak…. additionally Rishi Kapoor carried the curse of being a super successful cinema moghul’s son as well … the boon and the curse of being one of the ‘assumed’ actors… like AB jr… they are more fortunate than Rakesh Roshan/Kunal Khemu…. yet never rise to the audience’s gasping like AB or SRK…
loading...
Rishi did try his luck at the Dishoom-Dishoom genre with Barood, Duniya Meri Jab Mein, Zehreela Insaan, but none of them worked at the BO, so he stuck to the rom-com stuff. Even in multi starrers like AAA, Naseeb, Coolie his role was more of the comic relief kind. One performance of Rishi that i really liked was in Hathyaar, where he played Dharam’s brother, who opposes his brother’s criminal ways.
loading...
Rishi was dfinately good for ‘feel good’ movies… then again we never had an extra ordinary marketing for love stories then …. while action movies could just sell with one poster with a left arm on top right a lil below boxing pose of AB or Mithun… and the movie could be sold…
loading...
yeah although a movie like Saagar worked very well …he came second to Jeetendra ..who was insanely popular
The 80s movies were plotless…
Did he ever do any with Hrishikesh Mukherjee…
I can only wonder the possibilities.
loading...
DnD .. kya baat kar rahe ho yaar.. 80s movies had their own charm … and Rishi Kapoor indeed was the king of ‘feel good’ cinema in 70s and 80s… just that ‘feel good’ cinema was not the most popular one (i mean the surreal feel good, not the Hrishkesh Mukherjee Basu Bhattacharya movies, which had a lot of real life values ingrained somewhere) .. Hum Kisi se Kam Nahi, Prem Rog, Karz, Rafoochakkar.. rishi kapoor was a heart throb at a point of time…just that the time was not for ‘metrosexual men’ (brining that era in made SRK the superstar, warna his selection of movies are as good as Rishi Kapoor’s)… and for some reason even now I can watch ‘Aap Ke Deewane’ a lot more times than ‘Dostana’ …
loading...
Jeetu in Saagar!!!! It was Kamal, unless ur referring to some other movie.
No Rishi did not work with Hrishida. Jeetu however has done 3 movies with Gulzar as well as one with Basu Chatterjee( Priyatma).
loading...
interesting teaser. looking forward to shimit amin, jaideep sahni team up once more after chak de.
loading...
liked the concept,
with RGV and Sanjay Gupta spoiling the trailer fun for me by some in your face shots and some seriously bad copies(SUPERS)…this is refreshing.
Simple to a fault. Ranbir is endearing.
Would have been happy if it was actually a bad pitch….PPT not working or teleprompter not working,
Fumbling his lines….
He challenges after the bad pitch, in the film he will bowl us over. then we know it was actually a pitch for the film.
60 secs, a little too long, 30 secs would have been super, pushing the time line, a hurried pitch.
Did they see PFC Picture? OK, pushing it here.
loading...
Well, if it’s true that ‘Rab ne bana di jodi’ was ghost-written by Jaideep then God save this movie, or may be Shimit’s better sense will prevail and he’ll keep the movie grounded.
At the same time, one cannot dismiss it based on the trailer.
Also, APKGK looks like Ranbir’s second flop movie, c’mon directors like Raj Kumar Santoshi/Subhash Ghai/N.Chandra/Rahul Rawail etc etc…are way past their ‘expiry date’ I mean their kind of cinema.
And when they try to fit-in in current trend of movies, they only end up making laughin stock of themselves!
loading...
I thought the trailer was a little disappointing and somewhat feeka (bland), but saw it once only so first impression hain abhi tak…
I expect the moon from JS and SA so lets see whether this rocket will land there or not.
I think Ranbir does not have a great dialogue delivery, but again i don’t know i guess i am being over critical.
