Now this is what I’m talking about!!!
aisa Score karega na!!
mano ya na mano!!
about a trailer :
hahaha kya trailer hai!!
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Yaar Shekhar If background score is scored on a normal keyboard how do I upload/copy to the computer? Or which software should I use to score?
Haa haa haa….trailer-art ka MF Husain-screws-Raja-ravi-verma bana diya hai bhai. Ekdum “sex-romaanch-aur-action-se-bharpoor-chitra” lag raha hai!
Which reminds of Leela Cinema hall in Lucknow whose 4 inch by 4 inch film-posters in Sunday newspapers always had a ‘film synopsis type thing’ written by the crazy Theatre owner (or their publicist). He would use words like ‘Raj aur Simran ka dahakta hua romance’ to promote DDLJ.
) And he never forgot to mention ‘Naye Pankhey’ installed in the hall for at least 4-years.
My bakchodi entry for the contest
My second bakchodi but Non Entry ( background has spoken words)
Sow me the monies!!!!
Third entry to the contest… ho gaya kalyan!
@Shekhar – have you seen russ meyer’s Mudhoney trailer? cooler than faster pussycat kill kill!
@Oz – kya baat hai sir, love your choice of music, especially the 3rd one.
@all – check out trailers of the man from planet X, bride of the monster, attack of the alien caveman, first man into space, journey to the seventh planet, they came from far away! solid!!
@Pankaj…
With 2 weeks remaining for the release, I guess its high time the promos hit the screen and create some sort of awareness. Interestingly I saw two song promos of Sankat city in bollywoodhungama site. The promos so far look very promising, but am afraid it will go down the drain since New York is also releasing the same day.
Would request you to create an email chain with interesting pics, promos and captions and fwd them to all the corporate junta. Atleast this covers good amount of multiplex junta and hence more word of mouth publicity.
Pankaj saab,
yes I like Russ Meyer,
gosh I wish I had those “Badmash Kanyas”!!!
Mumbai Pune Highway ko “Gunaho ka Maidan” bana deta!
@Vinay
I use Garage Band software for composing music quickly, (its a in built Mac application)
but I’ll let you know when I get the info regarding your query .
My entry for the contest. It’s very amateur doing this for the 1st time i wud love ur comments thnx!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBdRAoMC5Vc
@oz how do u embed youtube videos?
That is trippy… Garage band at play?
really really excited about this! managed to (con)vinced a white collar mnc type maverick musician, a frustrated broke struggling aspiring film maker and an uber cool upcoming dj to participate in this! nd all 3 of ‘em have promised me half the loot when they insha allah win the contest. LOL!
@oz Yea Garage Band.. some of it is horrendous but i didnt wanna miss te chance.. thanx for embeding it…
Oz yaar, what an entry. Though half of it is copied from other 70s “soundtracks”, it still has elevated the trailer. You certainly have captured the “emosans” behind the scenes
@Cherish (9) – Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve no clue how to go about it, will check with friends. BTW, release might get shifted to 3rd July, haven’t received official confirmation yet. Promos are supposed to start this sunday onwards.
july 3rd? pakka? ticket karwa loon sarkar? ;-) all the very best. so we have time for some more bakchodi. haha.

can we edit the video ?
Take care not get caught in the intricacies of Copyright Law.
Those kids from Indonesia must sue our film-makers, to make them appreciate originality.
I am totally at loss here…how do I go about it? What do I do? Where do I go? ( Thanks Dhoni! ) HELP!
Am totally at loss here. How do I go about it? What do I do? Where do I go? ( Thanks, Dhoni! ). I have a hundred tunes swarming in my head, my talent is restless, it wants to spill forth. Par iss ki ma ki kirkiri, how do I put the sound on the video?!!

Have entirely created the score myself. I’ve tried to make the music sound ‘old’ so that it DOES sound like a 70s theme music. Hope you like it…..

Hi again !
Forgot to mention my city, Mumbai.
BTW, how do you embed the video in the post?
Hey guys, which software to use????????? Dont have garageband. Spent all of last week’s local train travelling formulating background score for the trailer. Which software? Arun’s score’s the best till now.
Wish to use the train’s running as the beats and compose the score as per the running frames. Will keep an original soundtrack, but will only replicate the instruments (main) to 70’s. Again, which software?
Arun , Big B must be feeling bad that u were not there during the 70’s to score music for his movies… Grt work !
The sound effects are too gud!
Lage Raho Arunbhai… All the Best!
@Pankaj
Not sure where to write this..but nevertheless continuing here….
This is in continuation with the email based marketing thing I had suggested earlier.
Apparently I got an mail today from some junk email id promoting a tamil movie. The email id has Namitha’s (tamil actress) name. The email has several poster’s taglines…and some video promo’s link in it. And its colourful too. I presume that they might have approached some marketing database companies to give email id’s of its existing client list (like for ex. tamil songs download sites which will require email validation) and they email all of them. Its cheap and kind of statistically proven to be effective. My email id is cherish.k@gmail.com. I can send in the email that i received for your preview.
This kind of marketing actually targets the tech savvy guys and in particular the multiplex junta. Hope it helps
Thanks
@arun: liked the work.. good good.. all the best
@Arun: Awesome job with the sound editing and effects!! You are the best man, hand down. Hope Pankaj gives you the award!! ALL the best!
Shivdas! awesome score man! all original??! amazing, ur a genius in the making.. thumbs up to u! sounds very classy n suits the visual to a T
Composed this Background Score by Myself. Hope you guys will like.

Very interesting submissions.
Arun, good job with pulling from the 70s soundtracks.

@ Arun –
HO ho ho mazedar mazedar..
Good show dude.
Am sure this gonna be first on audience poll.
Reema
I still vote for Shivdas’s score. It is (a) original & fresh-sounding (b) has a distinct 70s feel while not sounding jaded, the way actual 70s clips tend to sound, (c) the variations in the track are totally in sync with the visual transitions (i esp. loved the cabaret parts, gives a nice lift to the entire score). Good luck to you, Shivdas!
And did i mention that the ending simply rocks!
great stuff, man, u got real finesse
I fully agree with Geeta. Shivdas, ur track is simply marvellous! A truly professional job!! And its apt for the trailer. Every change in rhythm is perfect for the visual and its so completely 70’s. In fact while hearing the track I could actually visualise Amitabh Bacchhan / Vinod Khanna and Ajit in the roles being played by KK Menon and anupam kher!! Thats what music should do…transfix u and create an authentic ambience. Shivdas’ track is undoubtedly the best so far!!!
cool entries! great job guys. thanks for the effort you’ve put in. and keep them coming!
Hey,
The contest will close on July 5th, but when and how will the winner be announced?
Shivdas

PFC admin: Please embed the entry @60. Don’t know how to do it myself. Thanks.
Magik, your Mokhsh guys are quite talented and know their skill very well. They have captured the ethos of the scenes and elevated each frame with their music. You and moksh show their maturity when the beats dont start till anupam kher gives the whistle and the casino ball rolling sound reverberates when the sun sets and the title Sankat City rises.
Pankaj bhai, I have seen many a movies, which have held their promos like till last week of film’s release and have suffered. Sankat City deserves a month long promotion, before the film releases. I have seen the trailer on tv just once and believe me, it had no impact. It will be big, if Anupam Kher gives an interview for promoting the movie, if Kay kay appears on radio with Jaggu and Tarana and holds a sankat solving contest. Or better still why dont the movie makers hold some sort of sankat solving contest, with answers being sent by sms. The revenues from sms itself would be awesome, apart from generating interest about the movie.
here is my entry for the competetion

We would like to thank all those who participated in the ‘Band Bajao Contest’ – Chaitanya, Anand, Arunbrk, Sameer, Shivdas, Vaibhav, Moksh & Magik, Nikhil, VRS, Manan, Venkat, Rajan… thank you all for your efforts. It was difficult to arrive at a winner. In our opinion, Arunbrk’s track came closest to capturing the spirit of the film.
Congratulations Arun. Please get in touch with us at sankatcity@gmail.com so that we can take it on from there.
Cheers!
congrats arun! cheers!
@Pankaj-Thank you Pankaj ji
Cheers to Harvest Moon films ;)
Thanks to all, for all your appreciative words. As some one said, When the team works, the dream works!
@ Magik- Thank You.!!
