A couple days ago we received an email from Omi Vadiya of Red Tide Entertainment and they are looking for a screenplay writer for their next project - film.

And so if you are interested in the job then, here is more information on the job and the film:

Red Tide Entertainment is seeking and experienced feature screenplay writer for a new comedy film. Name Talent already Attached to project.

Writer must:

1. Have atleast 1 feature screenplay completed. (Awards, Options, Sold scripts a plus)
2. Have clear understanding of 3 Act Structure, Screenplay Format, 30 Beat Outlines, etc.

Story is about a Simple Indian Villager who travels to America and gets into a lot of trouble when he is mistaken for a famous Indian professor. This film explores the culture and politics of modern America through the eyes of an innocent, seemingly unintelligent, immigrant man.

If you are interested in this story and have most of these qualifications, please email at redtideent [at] yahoo [dot] com with a resume and a complete feature script (word, pdf) so I can see if you’re right for this project.

There is payment on a step process and will be determined based on your experience.

Nahhin, being “creative” doesn’t require experience, lekin “Have at least 1 feature screenplay completed” does ;) BTW, will the film be in Hindi, English, or Hinglish–just curious.

I have written to a friend in Mumbai, who meets the criteria and has written , directed and executed many scripts of similar nature ( not this story but a man exploring things, through the eyes of a different man/situation/system

Very good question. I have not got a clue about that, sorry. But since, it says “Story is about a Simple Indian Villager who travels to America”, I guess, it would be in rural Hinglish.

Forget hindi, how good is your english?
(bollywood screenplays are written in english…or at least translated into english if they need to get made).

@Cdrakenc: How about instead of scrutinizing my English & Hindi skills, you get your eyesight checked? Did I ask what language the screenplay will need to be written in? I asked if this will be a film in Hindi or English. Maybe this is another one of your classic typos/”generic you” references.

Jee haan, FYI I can read, write, and speak fluently in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. Please don’t tell me that when you said “Forget hindi, how good is your english?” you were referring to a generic “your” :-? Talk about being “jumpy”:-w

no,no sadde punjaban, I was saying “you dont need to istudy hindi to write screenplays, you need to istdy english”.

You jumped to the conclusion that I was being all scrutinical(is scrutinical a word?)

The idea of the film is similar to Hirani’s MUNAABHAI IN AMRIKA! Why not ask Abhijat Joshi to write?
