Utpal, following Saieesh’ mail, we have forwarded the entries invite to the filmmakers and participants in the Water film festival which concluded last week in Bangalore. All the best to the Short film center. Indeed a good initiative for the short film makers.
Thanks Utpal… it looks like a good opportunity to showcase my short “PICNIC”
It’s going to be BIG.
Big on Ideas! Big on Business!
The Short Film Center is being launched by the Entertainment Society of Goa for the first time in an effort to bring together short film makers, buyers, festival organisers and funding agencies on a single platform. The Center is aimed at developing and promoting fresh talent worldwide in this new booming industry providing entertainment and a platform to spread messages of social awareness, the world over. Video today, streams merrily over computers, laptops and mobiles and it’s time the MAKERS meet the TAKERS, setting the stage for a new dimension in entertainment.
Participants will have access to the world’s largest database of short and documentary film makers as they conduct business in the cool and leisurely environs of Goa. Funding Agencies will also be given a platform to reach out to producers, directors and short-film-makers so as to effectively present their commissioning requirements directly through a Presentation at a very low cost. The Goa government is working to prvide funds for budding writers & directors. Hope it works for them!
First there needs to be an infrastructural support and a film culture inculcated for such exercises to bear fruit in Goa. Else it is an exercise in futility.
