Ajay,Sonu Nigam ka woh letter kahan padhne milega?

  3. ajay on July 16th, 2007 11:59 pm

    ronny,
its every where.it was first posted on pfc.i dont remember the link.anyway for you here is the letter:
SONU NIIGAM’S OPEN LETTER TO SUBHASH K. JHA

    Respected Sir/Editor,

Without wasting too much of your precious space I’d like to say that for a long time I’v been reading, at the insistence of my fans and well wishers, various articles which contain one or more ways to include and humiliate me and my work, written by Subhash K Jha. All I want to say is I am sure he is a great asset to your reputed paper and very well known to his fraternity, but I’d like to put into your notice that he is the same guy who has always had over-whelming great words of praises for me once upon the time, from my impeccable singing abilities, to my acting prowess, especially in my movie “Love in Nepal”.(Please surf the net and read his review of the movie 3 years back)

So what suddenly happened that today he humiliates me every fortnight in some or the other article in your paper or the other’s that he writes for? Of course I am not the only one in his hate list, there is Shahrukh, Aamir, Salman, Shilpa, Ashaji, Anu Malik, Ismail Darbar, Alka Yagnik, Adnaan …and the list goes on..but here I wanna talk about myself!

Let me spill the beans open for you. I’v kept quiet for too long just hoping that his conscience will someday overcome his vengeance for me. Its not a secret in the industry that he is a homosexual (read Bi-sexual). God Bless him for Homosexuals are normal people with just different sexual preferences, just like men lusting for women is not a taboo. But a man Punishing a woman for not complying with his sexual advancement is an issue right? So why isn’t a man imposing upon another man an issue? Isn’t this a free world? Am I suppose to reciprocate to something that I am not interested in? And do I have to be subjected to this kind of DADAGIRI for no fault of mine?

Some time back, there was an article where he states that I threatened him. Yes I did! He challenged my audacity for not allowing him to take my interview. I didn’t want to talk to him. I did tell him to stay away from me when he comes to Bombay. What is my fault in this? No one is obligated to interact with people who make one feel uncomfortable! And especially when someone would constantly talk either negative, or suggestive!

I am not just an artiste but also a reader of your newspaper from the time I gained consciousness to this world. I demand you to treat me like a common man.

I am not alone in this world, I have a close knit family, friends and admirers who feel deeply hurt when this kind of unaccountable bashing is inflicted upon me. I want to be left alone. I am going to have my first baby soon and I want to give him/her all my time and focus in the next few months keeping myself away from the routine for sometime. Like any other father I think I deserve this space. I don’t want to be subjected to this strange kind of sexual assault where all that I did like a “phenomena” in his own words, some time back, has become something so hateworthy for this sick man.

I have his “I miss you and Love you Sonu” and “I am sorry” messages saved in various phones of mine and today I thank God that I never erased them!

Whether I succeed or fail, I have never resorted to cheap means of publicity or scandals, have been respectful to my seniors and encouraging to my juniors. I have seen poverty, struggle. I am not a star son and God has given me the blessing of entertaining the world with my art which I have honed with tireless hardwork. Everyone, from my seniors to my colleagues to my juniors, swear by my hardwork and dedication. And then, there is this man, who drags me in all his articles, lambasts me, shamelessly tries to tarnish my hard earned image, step by step, almost like a lover scorned by denial! I can very well take this all lying down too sir, but I just read somewhere recently once again that taking injustice lying down is a bigger sin.

Its my duty to exercise this right of mine by writing to you. By presenting my case in front of you. I leave in your worthy hands the task of presenting my case in front of the world who is witnessing Sonu-spanking for last 3 months. My parents have been hurting reading all this cuz they know the reality! Is my not being a homosexual so punishable an offence? If someone can do this to me, I wonder what the new strugglers, models and actors have to go through in this industry? My heart goes out to them. Please let them know we are not living in a jungle where someone’s silence is taken as a sign of weakness by a beast! Let them know that homosexuals have their right to be themselves in this society, but so do hetrosexuals!!

    Thanking you in advance.

B.P.S.. I don’t sound nasal when I go on high octaves as written by him to justify another singer. Even a kid will tell you that.

B.P.S.B.P.S… As Mark Twain said, I’d rather deserve all the accolades and not have them, than have them and not deserve them!

    -SONU NIIGAM

he is a bhasmasur of english journalism created by stars themselves.

  7. Anita on July 17th, 2007 2:55 am

Ajay sir, you are right!! He is created by the stars and now they disown him…This is how the industry is and will continue to be….today it vis him, tomorrow its gonna be somebody else..

  8. Phoenixnu on July 17th, 2007 3:52 am

ajayji, bilkul sahi. aur is bhasmasur ko gadhne me sadi ke mahanayak ko bhi bahut bada haath hai. we kai jagah publicly is baat ko endorse kar chuke hain ki unke patna ke jirgri dost mr jha hain. aise me bhala kiski itni himmat ko wo jha ka phoen na uthaye. par jahan tak sonu ki baat hai, unki need itne dinoo ke baad khuli. jab unhe love in nepal ke liye acche reviews mile they…jaisa ki unhone likha hai, tab shayad woh ise enjoy kar rahe they. khair, ye to hona hi tha!!

  9. desi scribe on July 17th, 2007 4:15 am

Sir, an open letter generally shows the level of discmfort by a person, whether it be about anyone. As an individual, I think it must have taken a lot of guts for Sonu Nigam to take any step. The truth or lie will come forth when the case goes forward. WE are not the ones to judge, but if it be sexual harassment, then I think the person should be punished. More so as we ae those who boast of exposes and actually run reams of newsprint and tons of footage on exposes and string operations. Whether he be one of our kind, he should still be brought to book. Never mind who created the anaconda. Fact is that we know his lair and it is time we brought him to book. And the creators will learn their lesson… Surely.

Forget all this, the most hilarious thing is the singer Abhijeet coming on TV and saying that such bad people should be made to pay, how much he is against such stuff etc…but did anyone ask Abhijeet what happens to all his values when he does not leave any woman who he meets?? HAHAHA!!

And in today’s Mumbai Mirror, the happy and gay Rajoo Kariya also gave a statement about how such people are creating a bad name for our industry!! HAHAHAHAHA!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!! FAHAHAHHAAAA!!

EVERYONE HERE IS A BLOODY PERVERT…EVERYONE…

A quote from SKJ’s article: “Himesh has made the nose a tool of erotic expression. In his hands, the nose attains a near-phallic status…”

SKJ has some MAJOR issues! But the article contained only 1 line about Sonu Nigam, so I must say I am a little shocked at the alarming response. Perhaps this one just pushed him over the line. I do understand the power a big “journo” has, and the power to make or break a public figure by influencing public opinion. But it puzzles me why he had to put homosexuals in general on the spot. This had to do with one individual so he should have limited his discussion to the individual.

  16. Aastha on July 17th, 2007 9:39 am

thanks ajay, but I meant it in full seriousness… I mean before I came on this site I didn’t even know who Subhash K Jha was and so I have no special interest in tarnishing him and all but this whole incident gave me this idea

  17. Full2njoy on July 17th, 2007 4:37 pm

Pyaar to hona hi tha…Pyaar to hona hi tha…

Subhash Jha is a lover scorned. Am sure he would have called up Sonu and said “I love you SSSSS…Sonu” hahaha. This is probably the best news to come out of Bollywood.

    May more skeletons tumble.

This is hilarious stuff. Jha and his biases out in the open.

Just read the article by him on Himesh, he wants to write a book on the “Rise of Himesh” God bless him :)

LOL!! He wrote: Himesh has made the nose a tool of erotic expression.. erotic expression? :-?

as someone said above “good riddance to bad rubbish..” :d

You know this whole gay mafia thing in Bollywood reminds me of an instance, an aspiring actor friend of mine once told me that he will probably sleep with Karan Johar to get a film. At that time I thought he was joking but now I am afraid he was serious… Poor fellow!
Hmm… how come all the guys I have a crush on end up showing some kind of a gay streak??? :-?

  22. ajay on July 17th, 2007 11:07 pm

    aastha,
ask your friend to write about that or you can write his version.let us expose all of them…the real face of popular icon.

  23. rony d'costa on July 17th, 2007 11:09 pm

Thanks Ajay, i am so bloody happy that even though Sonu Nigam “might” have done this for his own personal gain but i hope we will see less of Jha now.

  24. Vasundhara Prakash on July 17th, 2007 11:18 pm

thanks Ajay ji for sending me the link. This is quite shocking. but what im interested in knowing is what was the response to Sonu’s letter? is anything being done?

why are we content with mediocrity??? i find it surprising that there is no serious film journal on one of the biggest film industries of the world? all we have is gossip magazines!!!

  25. ajay on July 18th, 2007 3:47 am

    vasundhara,
really this is sad.no one is interested in serious things.just follow any site, blog or newspapers closely…no wonder you will find out that people like to read gossips and meaningless details about stars.
moreever most of our disscussions are in english.i find it very strange that our inteligentia does not like to speak and write in hindi or any national language.
we always talk about international perspective and scenerio.we just forget our native audience and their aspirations.
    tahnak for your participation.

  26. Evelyn Tu on July 18th, 2007 4:43 am

Ajay, even intellectuals are attracted to drama, and Badmash is a pro at creating it. Perhaps we’re all involved here by noticing and responding.

Could you please translate your idea briefly into English? My Hindi comprehension is below basic.

  27. Aastha on July 18th, 2007 8:52 am

Well ajay, my friend hasn’t really been in such a situation he was just speculating that this might be the easy way to the top.

  28. Aditya Seth on July 18th, 2007 10:16 pm

Well written Ajay. But the point really is that this is only the tip of the iceberg. We are only scratching the surface & getting our hands dirty with some splashes of muck on our clothes, we have only just begun to play with our sensibilities.
If we really dig deeper we shall be engulfed & suffocated in a miasma so unbearable & disgusting that there might not be any sensibilities left to offend. Let us not forget what T.S. Eliot said, “Human kind cannot bear too much reality. …

  29. VIKAS PARIHAR on July 18th, 2007 10:43 pm

I take back my comemnt about writing in Hindi. If writing in Roman script carries the mesaage to a bigger audience, then there shouldn’t be any issue about using Hindi script. After all, I too would like to read Urdu blogs in a scripot which I can understand:)
I think the boundries of languages are coming crashing down on the net. If we are using Roman script then there are native Englsih speakers who are using Hindi to reach world-wide audience. Check this American video blog “FuunyorDies” ( my favorite:)) where they have given Hindi subtitles to their most popular video “Landlord”. It was hilarios in English, but the Hindi subtitles have made it awesome:)

Its said that you can judge the character of the person from the way he treats others…If a person demands favours from others, means he /she had once given favours to climb the ladder.. its a never ending vicious circle.. but why should others pay for what path that person has chosen… Here I am reminded of a famous quote, “In the process of fighting the monster, don’t end up becoming one,”

  37. Nachiketa Desai on July 21st, 2007 10:50 pm

ajay has aptly described the bollywood journalism scene. however, in this globalised and consumeristic world, almost every profession has become commerical. so, i was not surprised by subhash k jha’s ‘blackmailing’ tactics.
