Swarg Mein Shaddi
A few days ago I heard a joke, a philosophical joke. I found it quite funny and thought this joke could be turn into a film story, which would revive the Yash Raj Factory. Because, first of all, it is a Joke and most of the Yash Raj movies are product of jokes, apparently. Then, this joke has all the other Yash Raj ingredients. Since it is a joke, it is easy to incorporate Pind/Khet of North India. The characters are made for Shah Rukh Khan or Saif, Kajol or Rani or Preity, and Amitbah Bachchan. There is also an opportunity for a sequel. So the joke is perfect for an Yash Raj movie, even though it is a philosophical joke.
Now, if we look it from an audience perspective, the film is basically a different love story but will have Shaddi, so naach-gaana and costumes, and a bit of religious . So again, it would be hit with the audience. Oh and, the film will have a message - keeping with the current trend, so what could go wrong?
Hence, taking all these into the calculation, I have converted the joke into a film story. I presume majority of films are made according to the process, so I just want to test it. And since, all current films are of same genre, its summer and during this time a lot of people get married.
Swarg Mein Shaddi
An eternal love story, which is made in heaven. It is an opening statement of the story (if there is such thing) and also the tag-line of the film. Although, that is a misguiding statement, but nevertheless an apt tag-line. It is a love story about a young lad called Rahul and a fine lass called Simran. They were madly in love with each other and wanted to get married, to purify their love for each other. But, the parents didn’t agree to it; they were against it. So the young lovebirds decide to elope and get married. But, the fate wasn’t with them, as they died in a mishap. They ended up in Swarg, since they were in love.
Rahul and Simran were happy, but were a bit sad because they could not get married to purify their love and of course both Rahul & Simran wanted to have the Shuhagraat, but only after the marriage. They were in a ghor sankat; did not know what to do, that is, how to get married in Swarg, who to meet regarding this, etc; they were new to the place.
They were invited to a new Swarg member party. After the introduction song & dance in which every newcomer introduced themselves, Patelsaab - secretary of Lord Indra found the story of Rahul & Simran touching, so he promised them he will take them to Lord Indra to solve their problem.
Next day PatelSaab arranged a meeting…. where Rahul & Simran told Lord Indra about their wish, but Lord Indra rejected that because, in his own words, “Yeha Yeh Maya - Saab Kuch Nahi Chalta”.
Step 1. They did not give up; they kept meeting Lord Indra and tried few gags with PatelSaab (which will be derived during the shooting), to change Lord Indra’s mind. One day he finally gave up and got Rahul & Simran married. They had a grand marriage. True Bollywoodish style. Everyone in the Swarg and Narg were invited.
They had so many Shuhagrats, but could not get a child. So again, they went to Lord Indra and requested a baby, but like before Lord Indra, “Mein-neh Pehle Bhi Kaha Tha, Yeha Yeh Maya-Saab kuch Nahi Chalta”.
The film is a semi-loop. The Step 1 was successfully repeated and they had a beautiful baby.
After few years they went to Lord Indra requesting divorce. Lord Indra smiled and said, “Mein-neh Pehle Bhi Kaha Tha, Yeha Yeh Maya-Saab kuch Nahi Chalta. It was difficult to find a Pandit then a Doctor, now how will I find a Lawyer here?!”
The End
It is a hit, I tell ya!

hehehe Goonda. I’ve a suggestion. Why not change the title to “Swarg mein Vivah”? ‘coz there has been a “Vivah” (which was a sleeper hit) and there will be “Ek aur Vivah” (Barjatya’s next movie). In that way, title will be true to current trend. Unless the Barjatyas own the title.
I am laughing my ass ….. NOT
LOL… funny stuff Goonda bhai… its a funny joke… but the freaky thing is I could actually see YRF going for this… lol… directed by Kunal Kohli or Siddarth Anand…
I agree with Vivek on the title. And since the story revolves around marriage who else but Sooraj Barjatya to direct it!!Well in that case he might introduce some new things.Like maybe the hero and heroine are soooo shy to tell each other about their love that they die before even letting the other know about their feelings. And yes there would be a strong supporting cast consisting of Aloknath,Himani Shivpuri and Reema Lagoo. And yes there would be a grand ANTAKSHARI(in heaven or in earth, does’nt matter) where all the characters(even the ramu kakas and kakis) would be singing and “dancing” too!!!And lastly the characters of the hero and the heroine would soooo “sweet” that those having diabetes would be strictly adviced by their doctors to refrain from watching it.
Seems like someone mixed up Barjatya and Chopra. I am on the verge of a diabetic coma from Vivaah and here you are giving the Barjatyas fodder for more poison.
Not even remotely funny!
Why is PFC sounding more and more like Big B’s blog? Humorless and bitter.
Bitter?! Nah. Humorless? Maybe. I was trying to be funny and knew some will find it and some will not. Anyway, ……..
I think we’re taking this a bit too seriously… HG said fairly expliticitly that this is JUST A JOKE>..
@7 - spot on mate. Humorless and bitter like the blogs of Big B and Aamir.
IMO ….the blogs by BIG B are scathing as well as humorous .
HG….uve done better than this..
better luck next time
Too much sarcasm!!!
Actually there is a dearth of so called “creativity” everywhere!
So next time hope you will write a story for PFC member directors also!! :-)
