Not a Million Reasons for Slumdog Millionaire making Millions…

This post is dedicated to Kenny who urged me to quit complaining and write a bit.

Young, mid-twenties, blond haired woman: “Two for Slumdog.” Old white man in his Southern accent: “Hi, I would like four seniors for Slumdog Millionaire please.” I heard old, young, white, black, brown, most people in this long holiday line at an indie theatre in Pasadena chant for the latest “Danny Boyle” flick. What about Slumdog is different, is new, is so catchy that Hollywood is responding in such an unexpectedly devout manner? All Time Horror Movies to watch on DVD – (in case you missed)

Ok, I don’t know many who can actually enjoy and appreciate horror movies this is for them and as for all the other sane people, who don’t want to scared witless, well there’s always those cuddly rom-coms to go home to  . So hopefully this would be my first post of many to come on this wonderful website, where I spend increasing amounts of time, while – I am bored senseless writing up code on my computer. Yes, I am yet another disillusioned software engineer from the U.S – who’s a cine pile … to say the least.

Quite a few questions came to my mind after watching the Slumdog millionaire. One thing followed to another and we(PFC authors) started debating on some of the things in the movie. The debate came to an interesting point and we thought of sharing it with everyone. It runs down as follows:

In next few days you’ll read a lot of great things about the film. And thats why I feel I must write this post & express the things that didn’t work for me. This is not a review of Slumdogs. Its mostly the issues I had with the film. And it mostly stems from a common problem of all such films.
