Quantum of Solace (Falls short of Casino Royale); Roadside Romeo etc

Batman Begins, The Bourne Ultimatum and now Quantum of Solace: movies in which the action’s been shot from so close and have such machine-gun angle-change editing that we have no idea what’s actually going on. This was the only flaw in Batman Begins, otherwise one of my ideal perfect films.
Burden of expectation is a very heavy thing to carry into a movie theater. I was never a Bond fan. I happened to watch Casino Royale only because the DVD was lying around. Remember the first 10 minutes with that amazing chase? That had me going, “Damn! This is fantastic!!!!…Now let’s see how this movie goes from here.” And it unfolded beautifully. I never did agree with Bond films. They never were my cup of tea. Not even the Pierce Brosnan ones. My, were they so over the top. They could work in some alternate timeline, but I’d rather stick to realistic spy thrillers and the most obvious we can talk about is the Bourne trilogy. But enough debate has happened on that front. Quantum of Solace(2008)

It is unusual that a James Bond film is released in India before it is released in USA. The 22nd James Bond film does not offer as one may expect after watching “Casino Royale”. “Quantum of Solace” which is like a sequel to “Casino Royale” falls short of expectations.

The film opens with the sound track “Another Way to die” and later followed by a breathtaking Car chase, after the car chase Bond and M interrogate White regarding the organization called “Quantum”. White in reply says that “The first thing you should know about us is that, we have people everywhere.” M’s bodyguard Mitchell turns traitor and shoots at the interrogators allowing White to escape.

Bond eventually kills Mitchell filled with impressive action scenes. The death of Mitchell leads Bond to meet Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) and Camille (Olga Kurylenko). …
