Y’all have seen or heard of ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ movie, so no point in writing another review and also, it is THE masala movie, that every B - director tries to emulate. However, I have a couple of questions about the movie and I would like to see today’s version of the movie.

Apparently, David Dhawan or some other director was meant to re-make this movie - it was in the news when we had the re-make frenzy period, that period is about re-kick-off with HimehBhai’s Karzz. Or that will put off audiences/makers from remakes. But wasn’t RGV’s Aag meant to do that?

Anyway, back to the film; the first question: The three kids were separated on 15th August but were they reunited after 22 years or 25 years? There is some inconsistent about the separation years; in one scene it is 22 years and in another scene …

Films like Singh Is Kinng is made specifically for the common man, meant for entertainment, not for snobbish intellectuals, AAM ADMI FILMS as the majority of these directors are calling it. So we have films like no entry, welcome and now Singh is Kinng hitting the theatres and all of their producers seem to be overtly confident of the success of these films depending on the AAM ADMI. So who is this aam admi or common man?

It is one of the most awaited film of the year, apparently. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee who has given successful hits like ‘No Entry’ and ‘Welcome’. Yes, both films were shite, but they were hits! You cannot beat that. The film stars Akshay Kumar - he is the king of entertainment. And he has been giving successfully films last so many years. And there is Katrina Kaif! Sighs! Hence there is a lot of hype/buzz around the film. Or I have been watching only one music channel. Anyway, I am looking forward to this movie. I reckon it could be a decent film, in some parts.

Pehaps after success of No Entry director Anees Bazmee thought “chalo No Entry hit hui hai to usi type ki ek aur comedy banate hai”. Let’s take love story of Gangster’s sister and an average boy. OK concept is good but then what? How to develop script? OK… add some songs picturised in Dubai, South Africa, Take big star cast Add illogical comedy sequences, poor jokes …. And most important constatnt TV campaning…. Ek baar public ne ticket kharid li to wapas to nahin karegi… aur.film dekhke medical store waalon (Asprin) ko bhi thodi kamaai ho jaaye to thoda bahot commission bhi pakka… So he made WELCOME.

Yes I know we should not try to find any logic in a comedy movie….but welcome is illogical as well as full of nonsense. Welcome has that kind of nonsense that can not be tolerated …
