Interes(h)ting! The varied uses of Frisbee! I learnt of this tongue-in-cheek term, variously attributed to George Carlin or Jim Stafford, quite recently. And it helped me with a single word description of what I have been seeking for a long time. What is it, you ask?

Let’s go back to Chitralekha (1964), the film adaptation of Bhagwati Charan Verma’s literary classic of the same name. Verma enquires about the notions of value judgment, what determines right or wrong and contrasts desire with sacrifice. The central tenet is similar to Schopenhauer’s attributing the primacy of will/desire over intellect in what drives man to be unreasonable.
