Finished watching “Loose change” …. an American documentary based on sept 11 and conspiracy theories revolving around it. Now if you ask me I seriously don’t know if what it says is true, partly true or totally false…..and I really don’t care if its true , partly true or totally false ….but out of many things which it stated the only thing that mattered the most …..is a question which it tells us to ask…ask the authority …ask the government ….and that question is very well relevant for all of us here in India and the question that our films should make us ask whatever governing body it may be ….

Possibly India’s “Crash”.. or i don’t know how else to describe it..Saw the rough cut , on Nishikant’s avid.. he wanted to bounce it off me and i was cleanbowled.. again the familiar feeling went through me.. why did i not think of it and why did i not make it..

The film begins in a police station with cops discussing sunil more(the marine drive rape case), one(Vijay maurya) of who is going on a holiday and the other(Paresh Rawal) counting his last few days in the service..then it introduces us to the computer salesman(kaykay) with his unemployed friends in a irani cafe talking about cricket and you also see that he has a phobia of muslims or probably distrust and hatred, then you see the bicycle coffeeseller (Irrfan) who is fond of perfumes and then the film introduces us to the bite hungry TV journo(soha ali khan) and her boyfriend …

Here’s the first extended look of Mumbai Meri Jaan… with Paresh Rawal’s voice over laced throughout, a very sensitive two minute look into the movie… the trailer grows on you!!! Looking forward to August 22nd, when Mumbai Meri Jaan hits the theaters!!!
