People fall in a situation and follow the passion generated out of this special situation called love and at that time they feel that every other thing in the life keeps less value before this passionate feeling called love. Life looks rosy and people think that it would remain rosy for ever if they follow the path of this love. Who does not know that Sanjeev Kumar was a very good actor? Who does not admit that he was a versatile actor?

He did many films which could be classified as mile stones in their respective genres. He played very tough roles with a competent ease. Nothing looked tough once he accepted a role. He made it so easy that role seemed tailor made for him. Exception can be his role of Maznu in Love and God but that film took almost ages in completion and it can/should not be taken as an example.

This is not a review kind of article but describes my random feelings and thoughts while and after watching Namkeen. Kartik has written an article on Namkeen but I must share my thoughts about this gem, - you have to tolerate this. Pardon me if some lines match with kartik’s article but this would be genuine as we all have same feelings about cinema.

So Namkeen is a story about a truck driver and his relation with four women residing in a remote Himachal village. Truck driver Gerulal (Sanjeev Kumar) decides to rent a house in a village where house owner is a family consisting of an old woman (Waheeda Rehman) and her three daughters(Nimki-Sharmila Tagore, Mithu-Shaban Azmi, Chinki-Kiran Vairale).
