“Khoya Khoya Chand”: A classic that didn’t get it’s due

This is the third time I watched KKC on a DVD. Yes, I get to watch most of movies now a days on DVD. I am not a professional movie reviewer, so have no compulsion to go see the movie in a theatre. Also, it’s a pain to watch the movie with small kids, and I have two of them. Yes, as you might have guessed by now, I am a middle aged man, stuck in the rut of life. Is that why KKC appealed to me?

I say that because KKC was largely ignored by critics and masses alike when it came last year. There were review here and there, but I couldn’t make out whether the movie …

Here’s the first extended look of Mumbai Meri Jaan… with Paresh Rawal’s voice over laced throughout, a very sensitive two minute look into the movie… the trailer grows on you!!! Looking forward to August 22nd, when Mumbai Meri Jaan hits the theaters!!!

Some time ago a famous Director who has earned his reputation as an intellectual director also, said, during a private talk with someone, while asked to give his take on two actresses, that he can not have a conversation with a certain famous actress as she is too dumb for that.

Its immaterial who he was and about whom he had said but important thing is this that a wise director thought in those terms.

Nevertheless his sayings gave push to an interesting topic.

Being a director he needed an intellectual actress on sets, who could talk on any topic under the sun with a good wisdom but who could not bring life and true justice to the character given to her or he needed an actress who might not be thoroughly intellectual in real life but who could make her character alive on screen?
