Ten most underrated songs of the year

We all know the hit numbers and the shit numbers. But with so many music channels and fm stations playing music all the time, the hit numbers starts hammering after a point. The only reason why i could never enjoy chal chaiyaa chaiyya (dil Se) and kajrare kajrare ( Bunty aur Babli). Overplay always does this for me. It kills the song.

This year it was bahut-zyada-dard-e-disco song that made me insane. The joy lies in discovering the unknown gem. One that your friends still havent heard and when you make them hear they want a copy or play it in infinite loop then and there. And whenever i discover a new song or a new voice that people havent heard much, am always on seventh heaven. Feel like shouting from there to tell everyone about that voice/song. So, here’s my list of songs that i loved, played in infinte loop but they never made it to the “popular charts”. The under-rated ones…which should have got more air time, more space….in no particular order….

1) Guru ( Shauk hai ) - When Guru does it, the whole world knows about it. But somehow this song didnt make it to the album. Jaage hain and aye hairathe are my favourites and are pure bliss. But dont why Shauk hai never got released. It was used as background music in the film. But thnx to youtube, its out now. And sowmya raoh…wow. Though have nver been big fan of hers but this song did the magic for me. So, close your eyes and listen to one more gem from Guru….
lyrics : gulzar /// music : rahman

http://youtube.com/watch?v=k1vAu0c96yY&feature=related

2) Jhoom Barabar jhoom ( bol na halke halke ) - This is one voice that always works for me. Raahat Fateh Ali Khan. And this is the song which was least promoted during the film’s release. It was out on tv channels only post-release. Every time, this song plays on radio channels, one or other freind ask me…have heard the song somewhere. dont remember where. Here is Khansaab on stage…
lyrics : gulzar /// music : shankar ehsaan loy

http://youtube.com/watch?v=0sMgubQ5V9c

and the film video…

http://youtube.com/watch?v=m7VdebfKyNg&feature=related

3) Eklavya ( jaanu na ) - Ok. We all know about the film and the hype and the controversy. Dont think many bothered to check its soundtrack though. Only the lullaby chand re was used in the film and was pleasing to ears for sure. But the song that i like most is jaanu na. Sung by sonu nigam and swanand kire, its an intersting duet with two voices that are so different, so extreme. One raw and earthy, other extremly polished and so sugar coated. But the voices together….hmm…check out here

lyrics : swanand kirkire /// music director : shantanu moitra

http://www.mp3hungama.com/music/index.php?action=album&id=850

4) Jab We Met ( aaoge jab tum ) - This song was again never promoted on music channels. Dont know why. All others made it to the charts…mauja hi mujha, nagada nagada, tum se hi, yeh ishq hai. But this was the one which i played in infinite loop. Bit of sadness and some hope. When Rashid Khan sang aaoge jab tum o sajna, i just closed my eyes and could see everything….barsega sawan, jhoom jhoom ke….palkoon pe jhilmil taare hain, aana bhari barsaaton mein….who said for every romantic number you need sonu nigam. wish more music directors would use Ustadsaab.

lyrics : irshand kamil /// music : sandesh shandilya

5) Laga Chunari Me Daag ( ehi thaiyya motiya ) - If one great song which was butchered mercileslly on screen, then this has to be the thumri ehi thaiyya motiya. The song was the only reason that i was little bit excited about pradeep sarkar’s second film. But, it disappointed me there also. Anyway, sometime back wrote a separate post on this song and the singer rekha bharadwaj…its here. And to check out the song click here

lyrics : swanand kirkire /// music : shantanu moitra

6) No Smoking (Kash laga) - After beedi jaliye le, Bipasha sizzlep up the screen again with phook de. But for me kash laga is the one. Never before i have been so tempted to hold a cigarette in my hand. This song has the mood of male-bonding as in chappa chappa charkha chale (Macchis) and huzoor is kadar bhi ( Masoom). Three freinds singing the philosophy of life….ye jahan…bulbula hai, paani hai…bulbuloon pe rukna kya…paniyoon me behta ja…kash laga. Sukhwinder singh, Daler mehendi and vishal bharadwaj…have they sung anything before…all together ??

lyrics : gulzar /// music director : vishal bharadwaj

the youtube link has bad audio…check the full song here

7) Sona ( abhi nahi aana) - My roomie bought this cd because he liked the title track. Never bothered to check it until i discovered abhi nahi aana. Munna Dhiman…he is the lyricist am putting my money on. In our songs, lovers have always cried…..jiya dhadkaye, raha nahi jaye, jaldi aao piya, main mar jaongi….here’s somone who took a U turn and wrote…abhi nahi aana sajna, abhi nahi aana…mohe thoda marne de…intezaar karne de……sona’s voice did the rest. And the simple and soothing music video captured the mood well.

lyrics : munna dhiman //// music : ram sampath

http://youtube.com/watch?v=BC2q9BJoO5A

8) Agnee ( Kabira jab paida huye they ) - I dont listen to remixes. Not at all. But there are hundred ways to put the old wine in new bottle as Agnee did with Kabir’s dohas. The band was back this year with a new album and some great sound. I even like sadho re and shaam tanha from the same album.
lyrics : kabir /// music : agnee

http://youtube.com/watch?v=8-vUzgmN7p0&feature=related

9) Namesake (yeh mera deewanapan ) - The original one is by Mukesh, susheel raman recorded this one for one of her albums…dont remember which one. But this year it was used brilliantly in Namesake…remember that quirky spontanoeus honeymoon dance number by Kal Penn and his girlfreind. Susheela’s husky voice and a unique accent (m thinking its….nri + trained in carnatic singing + bollywood number) creates something that is unmatchable. Here is the song and the original video…(if m not wrong )…ok…as someoen pointed out in d comments…teh video has no connection.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=sU4RcVdJ64o&feature=related

10) Nah…its difficult to have this list with only ten songs. So, instead of 10th one, here are few more…Delhi Heights ( Rabbi’s..aur delhi bus), Manorama Six Feet Under ( the kailash kher song…dhundla jo shama bandha ), Johnny Gaddar ( bhule bisre geet..recreating 70’s..ghadi ki suiyaan and more) and Water ( aayo re sakhi )

Am sure and confident that i have missed many more. So, do add on your favourites…the song which you liked but didnt get the attention it deserves. Am waiting eagerly to discover few more.

  8. satya on December 27th, 2007 9:07 am

I think ‘Rozana’ is the most underrated song of the year. Everything is great about it…great lyrics, great music and equally gerat rendition by Big B. What say?

  9. Amit on December 27th, 2007 9:15 am

hmmm.. may be, Alone.. but others songs from these movies stole the limelight. Its all relative.. Jab bhi cigarette jalti hai, Adnan verison would be one another under rated song.

  10. jdoe7890 on December 27th, 2007 9:30 am

‘Yeh mera deewanapan’ has been originally sung by Mukesh and the video is not related to the song.

  11. Honhaar Goonda on December 27th, 2007 9:38 am

Is Kholo Kholo really been played a lot in India? I did not know that!

Kailasa Jhoom Re! Awesome album! It would be good to see A R Rahman featuring in one of their song…

By the way, have you heard Rahath’s new album Charkha?

  12. Alone on December 27th, 2007 9:47 am

Yea dude.. rightly said.. I simply love that song..

KK has a huge list and this guy has “THE RANGE” ..Listen to Tadap Tadap ( Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) and Awarapan ( Jism).. Lagta hi nahi hai its the same singer

Check out Ankhon mai teri -OSO and then check out Sar jhuka, khuda hoon main - Paanch

    Dum Hai Bande mai

  14. Honhaar Goonda on December 27th, 2007 10:49 am

Any Wadali Brothers fan here? His son came out with an album this year, and one of the song - ‘Charkha’ and his dad Ustad Puran Chand Wadali featured in the song…. it is sort of fusion between Rajesthani and Punjabi folk music, no?

  15. Rasik on December 27th, 2007 11:13 am

    My fav songs are
    1)Saiyaan
    2)Maula mere maula
3)In Dino(”life in a metro” as an album also was very nice)

  16. Raja Sen on December 27th, 2007 12:24 pm

TRAIN had a pretty cool soundtrack, bro.

  17. Anand Kadam on December 27th, 2007 12:31 pm

so did awaarapan….Imran hasmi gets all the good songs

  18. Badmash on December 27th, 2007 12:35 pm

i am surprised your ten underrated songs didnt include Khoya Khoya Chand.. title song..

  19. Neeraja on December 27th, 2007 12:38 pm

    @phoenixnu
thanks for ‘abhi nahi aana’, wasn’t aware of its existence. nice song.

listen to ‘more baank chhaliya’ fron Dil Dosti etc. definitely underrated.
I think all songs of No smoking are highly underrated except for Rekha Bharadwaj’s Phook de. That, in my opinion, is the worst track of the album. what was AK thinking?
Few more that I can think of right now: Jaage hain (Guru), Gudgudee (Just Married), Chale aao saiyyan(Khoya Khoya Chaand). You have already included Aaoge jab tum in your list :)
I like the way ‘doob ja mere pyaar mein’ (Johnny Gaddar) starts, but then something goes wrong as it proceeds.

PS: does ‘bol na halke halke’ qualify as underrated?

  20. Neha on December 27th, 2007 1:39 pm

    Beete Lamhe - KK
O Re Pia - Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
    Mausam - Mithoon
Loved Aaoge jab tum which has been mentioned

  21. Sree on December 27th, 2007 1:54 pm

Thank you so much for posting these 10 underrated songs. I enjoyed listening to them very much.

  22. kavita on December 27th, 2007 2:40 pm

    @Neeraja: Abhi nahin aana……..Go Sona!!

Sona is the middle sister of the famous Mahapatra Sisters, also the prettiest.
Tina [ Pratichee ] is the youngest, one of the VIVA gurlz.
The eldest Mona married Ravi [ from the Varma family, yes of the RGV fame ]
    Navy kids.
& We all lived in the 90s in Sainikpuri, Sec’bad.

  23. maya on December 27th, 2007 2:47 pm

i loved “tose naina lage ” from anwar

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP0MXBEjGuw

ignore the video, just listen to the audio, simply divine

  24. Evelyn Tu on December 27th, 2007 3:19 pm

I’m really enjoying “Koi Patthar Se Na Maare” from Aaja Nachle. It’s very moving and I think qualifies for overlooked.

Perhaps I’d add to your excellent list “Mere Dholna” from Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Definitely, Kash Laga from NS deserved more attention, and I also agree with whoever suggested Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s O Re Piya.

  25. Neeraja on December 27th, 2007 5:01 pm

    Kavita ^:)^
How do you know so much! but of course you lived with them in sainikpuri. Sainikpuri? :))
    merci beaucoup pour l’information :)
    (I am learning :) )

by the way, now that I have heard it enough, I think the music could have been better.

I am still going with ‘more baanke chhaliya’ as the most underrated song of the year.

  26. kavita on December 27th, 2007 5:16 pm

And they were ALL head girls at
    Kendriya Vidyalaya Trimulgherry……
    [ I did NOT study there, therefore :)) ]

Sainikpuri : dream place for pretty women in 90s:)

We all went to the same club, same bakery, same ….

  27. The Bicycle Thief on December 27th, 2007 6:24 pm

Hey Phoenixnu the song from Namesake ‘yeah mera dewana pan hai’ was originally sung by Mukesh not Rafi…nonetheless the soundtrack composed by Nitin Swahney for Namesake was remarkable… especially

  28. The Bicycle Thief on December 27th, 2007 6:30 pm

Songs!? I wonder how many songs released this year, whether over-rated or under-rated I’m gonna remember or cherish in years to come….

  29. Mainak on December 27th, 2007 6:47 pm

    Bicycle Thief
That soundtrack was great no doubt. But all Nitin had to do was go back few years when ASIAN UNDERGROUND took the streets of England by storm & just select some of its best tracks. Most of the songs are from that movement.

The best alternative Soundtrack in indian movies belong to BOOM. Check out the song Zindagi by Sukhwinder. Its amazing. His Bombay Boys also had great soundtrack.

  30. Amit on December 27th, 2007 9:49 pm

Waqt par bolna title track, Hariharan
Chandni raat hai saiyyan , Amit Kumar and Asha ji creating that magic again.

  31. Amit on December 27th, 2007 11:15 pm

Well.. I can’t seem to stop myself from posting :P. Thanks for starting this thread, Phoenixnu.
But “Mera Jahan”, from TZP.Wow! Adnan Sami seems to have come of age, what voice quality, totally different from his earlier sleepy-husky tone.

  32. A on December 27th, 2007 11:46 pm

    Hi guys,

Love lot of songs but listing only those which I think were underrated. Do check these songs out:

    1. Some of the songs mentioned above. Don’t wanna repeat.
    2. Chaand Re & Dil ka Tarana (Apna Asmaan)
    3. Home (Bow Barracks Forever)
    4. Roya Re (Dhokha)
    5. More Baanke Chhaliya (Dil Dosti etc)
    6. Aaja Soniye (Dus Kahaniyaan)
    7. I’m Coming Home (Hattrick)
    8. Gudgudi (Just Married)
    9. Tere Sawalon Ke (Manorama - Six Feet Under)
    10. Aye Dil Pagal - Sunidhi (Naqaab)
    11. Jab Bhi Cigarette (Trance) - Sunidhi (No Smoking)
    12. Almost all songs from the movie Savalee (Donno whether this one is a Marathi…The title is Marathi, but the songs are in Hindi…maybe ‘coz most of those are thumri’s and khayal’s)

There are some good instrumental pieces and theme music in quite a few movies released this year. The ones I like are:

    1. The 6 tracks (Apna Asmaan)
    2. The Bright Young Love Theme (Bow Barracks Forever)
    3. Piano Piece (Khanna & Iyer).

  33. AZAD on December 28th, 2007 12:52 am

Most Underrated songs, IMO, Yeh Ash tray and Rozana.. and most understand Music Director: Vishal.. In fact he was better than ARR this year, IMO.

  34. _ram-jaane' on December 28th, 2007 2:23 am

An educating discussion, I’m glad I tuned in, one I’d like to add is Yeh Pyaar Hai sung by Shaan in the film Marigold
.. is mein emotion hai, drrama hai.. uh you get my point :)>-

  35. Sivakumar T on December 28th, 2007 3:14 am

The mistake that people who watch only hindi movies commit…..

Please change the topic to “Ten most underrated HINDI Songs of the year”….

Hope PFC is the platform for all Indian Movies..

quote - The only reason why i could never enjoy chal chaiyaa chaiyya (dil Se) and kajrare kajrare ( Bunty aur Babli). Overplay always does this for me. It kills the song. - unquote

whatever the reason, if you haven’t enjoyed chaiyaa and kajrare kajrare,it is punishable by court crime ~X(

a safe conclusion can be drawn that. you yourself never overplay the song yourself. it means this overplaying is done by radio fm tv etc.

its kind of sad, which song you will enjoy, which song you will not enjoy, is decided by broadcasting companies. they play a good again and agin. and in this way they kill the song for you.

    :-&@};-@};-@};-:-s

  37. Phoenixnu on December 28th, 2007 6:20 am

Such a pointless and stupid article ! Wondered why write such stuff but was silenced by the readership and comment traffic. Maybe PFC is just a platform for bored 9 to 5 jobbers to indulge in a little pseudo-intellectual warm-up on tea-breaks provided by their employers. Hardly see any serious professionals !

    anything wrong %-(

  46. P(L)AYBACK on December 28th, 2007 7:20 am

@ Vishrant … No man ! I thought PFC was a serious film appreciation site. Instead we have people writing yarns like ” Why I painted my toes orange last winter !”… Ridiculous !

  47. Phoenixnu on December 28th, 2007 7:25 am

    vishrant…thnx for the link.

  48. Honhaar Goonda on December 28th, 2007 7:33 am

Playback, you are contradicting yourself, by rubbishing articles such as “Spoorloos” (& others) and then going about “I thought PFC was a serious film appreciation site”.

Heck, we should not have published your article, if we go by your definition of passionforcinema.com.

You do not need to define everything. There are other people to do it, so leave it to them.

  49. P(L)AYBACK on December 28th, 2007 7:49 am

“Everything ” ? What “else” did I define ? And I wasnt even “defining”. But wonder “WHO” are into defining ? :) I am voicing my opinion against niched personal reflection. Thats pretty much it. Mabe this is a good time for you to define what “your” PFC stands for ! :)

  50. P(L)AYBACK on December 28th, 2007 7:52 am

“Heck, we should not have published your article” … Heck ! I am indebted ! Can I ever repay the favour ? :)

  51. Honhaar Goonda on December 28th, 2007 7:56 am

You weren’t raising your opinion against niched personal reflection? You said, in your words, “I thought PFC was a serious film appreciation site”. So what you saying now does not make sense to what you said a couple minutes back?

Raise your opinions - if you think something is shit then say it - and if I think what you are saying is shit - then I will say that. So stop shitting about.

    PFC = passion for cinema.

  52. striker on December 28th, 2007 7:56 am

playback, i don’t think you can. you’ve published the same comment on four different posts. trust me, you’re counting your days on PFC now if you think you can keep this up and get away with it. keep your nonsensical comments to yourself or find another “serious film appreciation site” where you’ll be way more appreciated than you are here.

  53. Jahan Bakshi on December 28th, 2007 7:57 am

PLAYBACK- what a pointless existence you lead, when you have nothing better to do than stupidly post the same inane comment on three different articles. It doesn’t matter what you think or thought- PFC is no hem-hem ’serious film appreciation’ site- we are a diverse bunch of people passionate about cinema and not necessarily scholars.

And no, PFC is not a platform for bored 9 to 5 jobbers to indulge in a little pseudo-intellectual warm-up on tea-breaks provided by their employers, nor is it a platform for pseudo-smart-alecs who are depressed, bored or perhaps, just don’t get enough sex.

  54. vishrant on December 28th, 2007 7:58 am

    kya karein controll nahien hota

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=z_L4fiy1GA0&feature=related
listen to this pt. bhimsen joshi, rag darbari kanada

close your eyes (when listening music be totally behind your ears) .. aur doob jayo. agar kaleja na hil jaye to nam palat dena.

you tube is a blessing. you can find rare clips like jugalbandi betwen pt. ravishankar and ustad ali akbar khan with ustad allarakha on tabla

  55. P(L)AYBACK on December 28th, 2007 8:01 am

@ Honahaar,…keeper of PFC,…where is the “film appreciation” in the articles I attacked ?

    @ Striker,….dont tickle me ! :))

  56. Jahan Bakshi on December 28th, 2007 8:04 am

And just a correction- Aaoge Jab Tum (Jab We Met) is composed by guest composer Sandesh Shandilya, and not Pritam.

@ Jahan,… “it does not matter”….what matters then ? … u making small talk while u stich a woolen sock on lunch break ?

  58. Honhaar Goonda on December 28th, 2007 8:08 am

So have you actually read “spoorloos-what-a-disappearing-act”? My English or Film knowledge ain’t that good to comprehend what the article is all about, but it is quite obvious that article is about film(s). He has written an article on film(s). No?

Now this article is about songs, which is a big part of Indian Films. Besides, you do not like niched personal reflection, so you should not have had any objections here.

The third article you rubbished discussed on ‘film appreciation’ - why cannot people appreciate this film or that film, etc. And film personalities.

And as I have said, who is telling you to define passionforcinema.com as a Film appreciation society? We have not defined that.

  59. P(L)AYBACK on December 28th, 2007 8:12 am

@ Honhaar,…As regards defining, you said : “There are other people to do it, so leave it to them.”….I wanna know who they are !

  60. Honhaar Goonda on December 28th, 2007 8:16 am

People who have a bit more common sense than you ;-)

  61. Jahan Bakshi on December 28th, 2007 8:19 am

:d/ I can’t stitch (not stich) for peanuts…but you seem to be getting quite hyper and riledx(…Anyway, I won’t really bother say anything more, what matters is that we keep our sanity, unlike you- so my advice to Hoonhar is just ignore…though on second thought PLAYBACK people like you do provide some fodder for amusement, lest we get bored with ’serious film appreciation’! I’m off to have my dinner :-h

  62. P(L)AYBACK on December 28th, 2007 8:25 am

@ Honhaar,…in that case I am in great company here ! Please lemme stay on !

@ Jahan,…the only “food for thought” u will ever have is DINNER ! :D … so go ahead ! :)

Phoenixu, I have to listen to Yeh mera diwanapan once everyday… It has that kind of effect’s’ on me… Susheela is very good but what Nitin Sawhney does to the interludes is incredible… Good list agree most of it… Aaoge jab tum is the track of the year!

  66. Dazed&Confused on December 29th, 2007 10:22 am

ok, this is not a film song but I noticed this enchanting number in the recent vodafone ad. Searched for the song and discovered that its been composed especially for this ad. Anybody know who did this…?

  67. Dazed&Confused on December 29th, 2007 10:39 am

well, I can play the acoustic guitar a teeny weeny bit and I am always partial to those songs which can be done some justice to using that instrument. So here’s my list of favorite ‘guitar-able’ songs of the year in no particular order-

    1. Woh Bheege Pal (MSFU)
    2. Tumse Hi (Jab We Met)
    3. Tera Mera Rishta (Awaarapan)
    4. Kholo Kholo (TZP)
    5. Johnny Gaddar
    6. In Dino (Life..in a Metro)
    7. Dilli (Delhi Heights)
    8. Dil Kya Kare (Salaam-e-Ishq)
    9. Aakhri Alvida (Shootout at Lokhandwala)
    10. Aa bhi jao (Awaarapan)

Very nice post by the way, phoenix…

  68. Evelyn Tu on December 29th, 2007 11:55 am

D&C, I love In Dino. Was it truly underrated?

  69. The Bicycle Thief on December 29th, 2007 2:21 pm

@Mainak… Nitin himself was an important artist during the asian underground movement… He has used a Talvin Singh track in the movie (and has credited him for the same) was a famous track during the movement. But if you listen to other tracks you wont see the asian underground influnce. And yes the trackax Zindabad by Sukhvinder from Boom is very good. Zindagi? Is there any such track by Sukhvinder in Boom?

  70. Mainak on December 29th, 2007 2:41 pm

    @ Bicycle Thief
Finally someone who knows Zindabad. I am amazed that there are so many fans of Sukhwinder but hardly anyone talks of that song. I think its the only authentic Indian Rock Song. Not just a copy of western rock. The lyrics are so good too.
I know about Nitin’s role in that Movement. He is the only one who survived that movement. Talvin is ofcourse the biggest name & face of Asian Underground. But he seemed to have dissapeared completely.
I remember having this album called EASTERN UPRISING, which was a compilation of all these great songs from the movement. It’s very hard to get. Try getting your hands on it.
Here is the Amazon link for it

can’t thank you enough for ‘abhi nahi jaana’ >:d<
and doob ja was everywhere? ok! didn’t know that but it doesn’t deserve to be. its really just the starting, its awful after that.

  72. Neeraja on December 29th, 2007 6:14 pm

    oops… it’s ‘abhi nahi aana’ :D

  73. The Bicycle Thief on December 30th, 2007 1:39 am

@Mainak..are ye the same person who wrote the ‘Discoveries of 2007′ blog?

  74. bollywoodplusplus on December 30th, 2007 1:55 am

I think all the songs of Metro are way underrated, its a pure pleasure listening to the tracks infinite no of times, and it will remain a groundbreaking hindi rock album for sometime to come!

Alongwith this ten, I can list another twenty may be. But the fact is, no one cares about creating a long-lasting classic anymore. Unfortunately, the directors/producers of the movies are not interested in the lasting value of the song, but they are interested in the hook-value of the music or instant gratification index of the music, so that it can prop the movie publiity. Music suffers! Nothing against Vishal Shekhar, but there will be no dard left in Dard-e-disco 4months from now!

Yes Discoveries of 2007 is my post.
    But why do you ask?

  76. The Bicycle Thief on December 30th, 2007 4:50 am

Sigur Ros happens to be one of fav band. Started listening to them the year Vanilla Sky was out. Since then I hardly met anyone who heard their music or about them. Tried their new album and its fantastic. The album art is intriguing.

  77. The Bicycle Thief on December 30th, 2007 4:52 am

    Do ye listen to Radiohead?

  78. The Bicycle Thief on December 30th, 2007 4:54 am

@Mainak…. The above two comments are for ye

“This song has the mood of male-bonding as in chappa chappa charkha chale (Macchis) and huzoor is kadar bhi ( Masoom).”

So true..reminds me of one gem of a song from Ghulami, peele peele, sung by Manhar Udhas, Suresh Wadkar and Shabbir Kumar(or was it Mohd Aziz?). I wish I could find a link to it!

  80. Monica on December 31st, 2007 4:46 am

    Akele Tanha from Darling.

  81. Phoenixnu on December 31st, 2007 5:35 am

@Amit…if u get it, do let me know.

@bollywood++…compltly agree. cant bear dar-e-disco anymore. meto is surely one of the albums with all good songs. but underrated, dont think. got good play n teh music did good business as well.

@Neeraja…u r welcome. can understand. happned with me when i first dicovered the song. was the same with few other freinds who discovered it later on. but i love the title track of johnny. the starting point sounds like kill bill.

    @DnC…thnx and n guitar-able list….wow, love all the songs.

@Pratim…agree…agree…same with me. either i go to bed with susheela raman or wake up with that voice. or sometimes it keeps on playing in loop thru out the nite.

@jahan…thnx for the correction. frgt about sandesh compltly. he is again one underrated composer. has composed some damn good songs.

@playbck…why r u wasting ur time here. or someone forced u.

Pardon me if I go a bit farther in the past (80s/90s)….anybody heared “Main aawara hi sahi”(Abhijeet’s first ever song/Anand aur Anand/1984)?….or “Kaheen to milegi muhabbat ki manzil”(again by Abhijeet/Milan/1994)…or “Kabhi bekasi ne maara” (Kishore Kumar/Alag Alag/1985)…”Tum se badhkar duniya mein”(Kishore-Alka Yagnik!!!/Kamchor/1982)…or “Rangshala mein seekhne gaana”(S.P. Balasubramaniam/Shubh Kaamna/1983)…
