THANKS OZ!!!!!!

Hey Oz,
Thanks for the invitation to write the posts on my various experiences in filmmaking, either while assisting or directing my own short film. Right now i am busy with two projects i.e. ‘Nishabd’ and another project for which i am busy with the pre-production. To start with, let me tell you that ‘Nishabd’ is being directed by the maverick filmmaker and half the industry’s godfather, mentor Mr. Ram Gopal Varma. We shot this film in Munnar in kerala and finished the entire film in just 20 days… its loosely based on Lolita, but really has nothing to do with the original Lolita… so next time i would share some of my good, bad and ugly memories of what happened in the making of Nishabd, and how we managed to wrap the film only in 20 Days.

Welcome Surendra,
Yep i’m with Honhaar here, don’t take too long to give us all the low down. We’re already craving for more information so feed these little minds pronto ;)
Surya: Is it true that RGV’s camp has lot of professionally qualified people, mostly engineers n even doctors?
His chief AD(not sure if he still is the chief??)Akshay is an engineer, so is Manish Gupta his writer for Sarkar, Rohit Jugraj was MBBS.There might be many others??
What about you guys?
i think manish gupta is no more with factory/RGV… he’s making his own movie ..(same with rohit jugraj of james famed…)
althugh manish rocks in D …lines like ” Dhande main dost dushman hota hai…koi Dr hota hai koi engineer hota hai main gangster hai…. “….
Push: I meant the people who started with RGV… or from RGV school
HEY GUYS,
Thanks a million for ur overwhelming response to my first post, its really touching to see so many of u wanting to know so much about cinema, and especially when it surrounds a man, a technician called RAM GOPAL VARMA. Guys let me tell you one thing, he is a dude for sure. Works fucking 20 hours a day and cannot converse beyond cinema. Movies are his life, he eats them, drinks them and breathes them. In the mean time, manjeet i somewhere agree with u. But RGV if he believes in something he will go ahead with his instincts, and keep on trying. As far as the kind of people employed with the RGV film company is concerned, i guess it just does not matter, everybodies love for the cinema just automatically sucks you into this profession. Unfortunately, we don come from the culture where cinema is considered good. THough thankfully, i see the attitude and appraoch towards films have changed. I am sure henceforth children when asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” wont be surprised, or hesitate to answer “A Filmmaker”. As far as i am concerned, i am a double post graduate. To begin with i am a commerce graduate, with a diploma in Journalism and Mass communication, with a post graduate degree from THE TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES” (TISS) specialising in Medical and Psychiatric social work followed by another Post Graduate Degree in Mass Communication (TV & FILMS), from the JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA, NEW DELHI. I guess enough of my CV… by he way sharma Vikas, it was pleasure having you on board too on Nishabd.
surya, welcome to PFC dude.. der aaye durust aaye.. looking forward to more from you on nishabd dude \:D/
