The NasalStar

The nasal craze period is gone, the world concert tour is coming to the end soon; so how else Himesh Reshammiya and the company would make more money. Any guess people? Acting is the answer you looking for.

According to MusciIndiaOnline the besura badshah a.k.a Himesh Reshammiya, is all set to become an actor - Hero. Nobody predicted that he would become such a craze and certainly nobody would have predicated that he would act and would be the protagonist of a movie. But it seems like that it will finally happen.

I do not blame him or the company cos they are in this field to make money. If I were to blame someone then I would blame the audience. Our audience has a habit of treating crap piece of works like gold. Sometimes I do wonder that.. Hindi Film/Music audience do lack some class. Hence we have more crap products churning out of the industry… every year.

Anyway, agar woh hero banjata hain, then that means we might not hear his nasal version of ‘Mehbooba’. So for that reason let’s hope that he does take up acting.

    Nooooooooo

a movie with the miserable himmesh - what a waste of money! actually no i hope it releases and bombs out big time!

  2. oz on October 14th, 2006 12:56 pm

    - HG, I recently saw an interview on TV where Himesh made it very clear that he had no interest in movies and these were all rumours.

  3. Sangeeta on October 14th, 2006 1:23 pm

but oz rumours often turn into reality, although i do think it’s unlikely he would turn into an actor. He must recognise that he isn’t “hero” material

  4. cabymistake on October 14th, 2006 3:31 pm

no ozzzie… he has already reduced wieghts and putting on muscles and he has not ruled out acting in movies..

  5. Honhaar Goonda on October 15th, 2006 12:03 am

Also he is cutting down composing music for films and he’s going to announce his film ‘Aap Ka Surruuu’ at the end of his UK tour, apparently.

he knows he ain’t a singer material, but he has cashed in. so why would not he try his hand at acting?

There was a time when I used to think Emraan Hashmi and Himesh Reshammiya were the same person. I don’t know why… :-?? but I still have difficulties knowing who is who…

I think I’m on moderation… I left another comment on the London Film Festival and that is what it said… :-(

  7. Sangeeta on October 15th, 2006 4:29 am

oh monica i’m so glad someone else thought that! i thought i was the only person who could see the resembleance, although ermaan is much nicer - younger version. I think Himmesh’s stubble, jeans and cap were the culprit! I only realised this when i used to watch saregamapa challenge 2005

  8. Monica on October 15th, 2006 4:48 am

LOL Sangeeta, good to know it was not just me then!
I should watch bits of that saregamapa show on youtube sometime… I always mean to and always forget.

I think the moderation thing had to do with posting more than one link… :-?

I am no Himesh fan, but I would certainly like to know from his critics as how would they explain his meteoric rise. I must admit, the first time when I heard him in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, I did stop to notice the difference in his voice…love him or hate him but we all must admit there is something distinct about him. Whether he should do films or not is another story, but if we can appreciate Sapna Awasthi’s unconventional voice,Zubin’s twang then why not Himesh. The downright crucification that the industry has been following for him is tad too much.

  10. Honhaar Goonda on October 20th, 2006 2:13 pm

Yes, we do appreciate unconventional voices, but Himesh is signing from his nose - it’s not a voice.

It does bemuse why he has become such a star and why do people love that kind of noise. All I can say is that majority of Indian music/film audience is ignorant.

Do you think anyone will remember his songs say.. in 10 years time?

  11. Sangeeta on October 20th, 2006 2:59 pm

salman khan has done many bad things but one of the worst was introducing himmesh into the fimi industry

    *tauba*

  12. illuzon on October 21st, 2006 1:56 am

Sangeeta, Salman might have introduced Himesh to the music world vis a vis bollywood but prior to that Reshamiyya has been a successful producer of popular tele serials and composed for as well.

  13. illuzon on October 21st, 2006 1:57 am

Honhaar, then what do you have to say about Ms Salma Agha’s voice?

  14. sumeet on October 21st, 2006 2:22 am

I guess we can categorize Kumar Sanu as a nasal singer as well.

  15. illuzon on October 21st, 2006 2:50 am

Sure you can. Kuamr Sanu is the pioneer of nasal accent followed by his clone Babul Supriyo.

  16. sumeet on October 21st, 2006 2:57 am

@Illuzion.. Great.. My first question was a tactic actually ;) to come to my second question… Didnt everybody say that Kumar Sanu sounded so much like Kishore Kumar? If so, was Kishore Kumar Nasal too?

  17. illuzon on October 21st, 2006 3:09 am

Yes, Kishore Kumar had a nasal twaang which wasn’t as pronounced as it was for Sanu. I don’t see anything wrong in being nasal. Sanu tried imitating Kishore da a lot but could never achieve his versatility even with Ashiqui, Pardes and Dhadkan. (that’s my personal view). All I am saying is critics should stop ripping Reshamiyya apart for a nasal twaang. If Jaspinder Narula, Salma Agha, Kumar Sanu et al can be spared then why are they badgering Himesh?
    — A non Himesh fan just figuring out a pragmatic stand

  18. Honhaar Goonda on October 21st, 2006 3:12 am

to be honest, i do not know who is Salma Agha, so i had to check out her songs on musicindiaonline and i did not like it that much.

i have not got anything against unconventional singers/voices as long as they can sing it properly. where as Himesh cannot sing. he cannot even pronounce some of the words properly.

i do like singers: Padmashree Rita Ganguly, Makarand Deshpande, Sapna Awashti, Subha M, Mohana Sarkar etc; they all have got unconventional….

  19. illuzon on October 21st, 2006 3:24 am

Salma Agha ‘rocked’ ( i too don’t know how)the nation with her songs from Nikaah(dil ke armaan)and Mera naam Salma number from Aap ke Saath. Maybe because of her unconventional voice…was quite popular during the Eighties.

  20. Honhaar Goonda on October 21st, 2006 4:41 am

i would not know much about 80s or early. so is she anywhere now? does her songs get played now?

(by the way, i read yer blog, nice!)

  21. illuzon on October 21st, 2006 9:48 am

    HG,
Thanks. Don’t have any latest dope about her. The last thing I remember is a film called Pati, Patni Aut Tawaif she did with Mithunda in the early 90s.

  22. Honhaar Goonda on October 31st, 2006 12:04 pm

well, the news is out, and he is going to play lead man in AAP KAA SURROOR – THE MOVIEE – THE REAL LUV STORY.’

  23. Honhaar Goonda on November 8th, 2006 1:13 pm

i saw a promo of his debut movie “Aap Ka Suroor” and all I want to say is that, god save us!
after seeing that promo - i don’t think anybody will use word ‘Tanhayee’ in a song or as a movie title. He has raped the word.

  24. Sudha Elavarti on November 8th, 2006 3:52 pm

I am no Fan of Himesh, but I feel he has talent, only that he is giving what audience and the film makers want. He has done some great work like “Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya” “Humraaz” “Sisilay”.
Creativity in India is ruled by market success….why else would movies like KANK, KRISSH would be blockbusters when pitched against OMKARA?

  25. Honhaar Goonda on November 9th, 2006 12:35 am

Indian audience want that crap? What happened to the Indian audience who appreicated quality music?

If there is not quality out there in the market then people will listen to the crap.

KANK and Krrish are not movies imo. People just watch it to see the locations, songs and clothes.

  26. sweta on November 13th, 2006 7:26 am

hey guys y cant u appreciate a person who s got so much .his promo looks promising.he is no fool to do tat.i like his nasal no one can avoid he is not crap
