The Spoof Of The Year
Last year ‘Ghajini’ was ‘The Spoof Of The Year’. This year, we could have an Akshay Kumar winner. He has been trying so hard for the title for quite some time now. Kambakht Ishq could be Akshay Kumar’s second autoBioGraphical fillum in space of two months. Naidawalas have produced spoof films in past, such as, Awaara Paagal Deewana, Phir Hera Pheri, Heyy Babby, Deewane Huye Paagal, etc.

Didn’t quite get this. Spoof???
Akshay Kumar has never won a major award or something like that – he is a stuntman – his early career was like that, so he is spoofing his life in this film. It could be copy of so many hollywood fillums as well.. Kareena Kapoor spoofing Sarah Jessica… it is coming from producer who made a spoof called ‘Heyy Babby’
No?
I saw this traile today morning, was reading a lot about it in paper and hearing about it in tv.Finally when saw, it so lame, not only the story is old as our industry, but the presentation is also so boring.
Only thing i enjoyed in promo was Kareena’s legs.
Looks Very Interesting, i really can’t wait to see this
So you get ‘Best stuntman’ award for that exhibition ride at Universal studio, eh? :D
looked pretty ordinary run-of-the-mill stuff…
the dialogues sounded so fake……..
saala recession ke naam pe toh itni faltu ka kharcha mat karo…
looks more stupid than CCTC
booooooooooooring……….
and was that Brandon Routh …..
Sly must need money pretty bad man….he seems to have lost it all in Madoffs Ponzi scheme …..this is so going to go the CC2C way….
Is there an option to puke on this trailer?
This looks like one of those D2D (Direct to Doordarshan) movies
Why why why is this forum so biased in favour of UTV and Indie films! You guys are worse that the YRF and Nadiadwalas. Losers!!
I would really like to ask how this is tolerated on this forum? How can you put a trailor of an unreleased movie and bash it like this? I dont care if the movie is great, but its just wrong. PFC is really taking this a little too far. Hate to say this.
Case of sour grapes for sure. Yahaan sirf losers aate hain kya?
UTV ne inpe ghoo bhi feka toh shahad bolkar chatenge. Kya yaar…thoda toh izzat karon apne kaam ki. kisika khoon paseena gaya hain uss movie mein. Movie release hon jaaye, movie dekhkar likho na negative reviews…Ghajini, RNBJ, Dostana…sab bhakwaas hain. Boss paisa wohi log bana rahe hain…tum log bass baitkar articles likho. You should be ashamed of yourself.
@Cinemausher
Story is as old as our industry?
Elaborate please.
AK takes Devdas and makes it comtemporary in his twisted way…thats genius.
Nadiadwala takes a “Old” story and makes it candyfloss…thats a spoof?
I am a big fan of AK movies, but I respect the fact that maybe there is an audience for candyfloss. I’d suggest you do too, humble pie my friend.
Blimey!! I should be ashamed of myself? You call this a bashing?! You are a biased Akshay Kumar fan? You know, when I was a ten year old kid, me and my cousin from outskirts of the Town travelled on a single cycle to centre of the town to watch a Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi movie.
No wonder the industry going down the toilet if this is the most awaited movie and a blockbuster in the making.
was so eagerly awaiting the movie. when i saw the trailer, i was like wtf? the promo is so boring, it has totally put me off the movie.
@ cliff……
the opinion’s here are based on the teaser..i personally was interested in this movie but the trailer totally put me off. if u go to an open forum be ready to take an opinion against urs…..dont be so dismissive…..
first i’m not akshaye kumar fan. I haven’t watched any of his movies in a theatre. Yup..you can count…zero!!
@Ashwini
Dismissive I here, Isn’t this article dismissive?
You found the promo boring so you can come here and call the movie a spoof?
@Moses
what industry is going down the toilet dude? Taste is relative, maybe you like the indie movement and think it is gonna save the indian fi;m industry…well I’m sorry to say this, but ur wrong. Big Budget big banner big star movies are always gonna be the money spinners….why you ask, coz the audience wants to see dreams being woven on screen…not some dark stories being told…technical brilliance doesn’t make a movie my friend, larger than life themes is what sells.
The opinions here are biases. If you guys dont see it, thats a biased view point too!
I hate to see how there is a definite bias in this forum in favour of UTV, Indie and small budget movies. Sure they need the support, but crying fowl and ranting against the big banners is not the way to go. PFC members…show a little grace!!
I hadn’t watched the trailor before I saw it here.
To be totally honest, you guys are right…the promo is kinda drab, but its honest representation of the product. Atleast its not misleading like alot of trailors are these days. Billu (Barber), Delhi 6, Aa Dekhen Zara are all cases where the trailors were completely misleading. This trailor is very indicative of what to expect from the movie, maybe for some of you guys it doesn’t have enough, but there has to be an audience somewhere in the country (or overseas) who would love to see kareena kapoor and akshaye kumar go at it…akshaye playing a stuntman, kareena playing a supermodel, all those hollywood have beens, someone might wanna see that. To go on and call the movie a spoof is not just harsh, its also extremely motivated by jealousy, reeks of it infact. Maybe the author has no idea what a spoof means. Ghajini is a spoof? Its the biggest blockbuster in the history of this industry. Do you even realise that it is this same money that will trickly down through aamir khan productions to give us more heartfelt, warm but small budget movies like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Without the big bugdet money spinners…this industry wont survive. Theatre is dead,there is a reason…its not larger than life like cinema is, you want every movie to be small budgeted indies? cinema would be so boring if that happened.
1. Ghajini is not produced by Aamir Khan’s production house. So money made from Ghajini won’t be trickled down to ’small – budget’ film like Jaane Tu. And I believe the budget of Jaane Tu was INR 11 Crore. And Taare Zameen Par’s budget was also around that mark. Low-Budget films? Those were a good budget films. Not low budget films. Bheja Fry was a 1 Crore Film. And I think Hulla was made around that mark.
2. If Jennifer Todd & Suzanne Todd wanted to go through all the hassles, they can sue Geeta Arts and all the money could be gone, gone..
3. If Ghajini is not a (unintended) spoof, then you don’t know what spoof means – hang on – you already have used that on me – so I cannot use that on you – so – second try – If Ghajini is not a spoof, then you don’t know what spoof means… shite – please tell me what spoof means.
Nice catchy music by Anu Malik, Kareena looking hot….but ultra cheesy dialogues, an 8 year old could write better.
Strictly based by my opinion on the trailer it looks like a super waste of time & money(speculated to be bollywood’s most expensive movie ever).
And AK audiences have grown tired of this act you are putting on in every recent movie of yours…try something different for a change(We don’t want another SRK).
