The Traditional Single Screen Experience Series – Apsara Theatre,Coimbatore
Sethumadhavan | Movies, Talking-Points | April 10, 2009 at 4:01 am
The current strike being called by the Bollywood Producers and Distributors combine against the multiplexes in to ensure 50: 50 sharing of revenue has made a lot of people like me to look back at pride at the glorious days of the traditional single screen theatres and cineplexes. In the first part of the series, I had written about Priya Cinema, Kolkata
(read it here- http://passionforcinema.com/the-traditional-single-screen-experience-series-%e2%80%93-priya-cinemakolkata/) and now this time I head south, all the way to Coimbatore. Well for the sake of those who aren’t familiar with Coimbatore, let me tell you that it’s one of the upcoming cities in South India and of course a fairly cosmopolitan city with a good mix of educational institutions and industries.
Well of course I’m here to talk about cinema and theatres, so let me start off by telling you all that Coimbatore generally has a tradition of good theatres and cineplexes which play the regular Tamil,English,Hindi & Malayalam movies. Apsara Theatre has been one such single screen theatre which has been popular over the years and has been a favorite haunt of mine at various periods. The theatre located at Dr.Nanjappa Road, Gandhipuram has an interesting history in terms of the movies played over there.
Operational since the late 1970’s the theatre started off primarily screening Hindi and
English Movies with the odd Tamil movies also getting released in between. This trend continued till the mid 80’s. Suddenly the flow of Hindi movie releases stopped and then the theatre started playing soft porn movies and the only exceptions in this period were the Jackie Chan & Jet Li movies as the theatre had started building up a good fan base for these movies. The only other theatre in town competing for the martial arts movies was Maruti in R.S.Puram. So due to the advent of soft porn and action movies the family crowds started staying away from the theatre. Many a times over the years the management tried to unsuccessfully restore the pride of the old days and the two main attempts made were in the early 90’s when you had a spate of Hindi releases like Dil,Hum,Saajan etc followed by the mid 90’s with Jeet,Yaarana etc.
But what the management lacked was patience. Since they had lost considerable family audiences, to bring them back in hordes required consistency in screening the right kind of movies (Hindi). But what happened was that usually seeing the crowd not really matching up to their expectation they would revert back to playing soft porn movies in between to make up some collection and so they could never really bring back the family crowd in its entirety. But every cloud has a silver lining and Apsara Theatre too received a shot in the arm during Diwali in 1997. Surprisingly they managed to screen Dil To Pagal Hai. With DTPH they managed to bring in initially the college crowd and eventually the family crowd. This time they realized that they needed to be patient and consistent and thus brought out a steady stream of Hindi releases. So a year down the line for Diwali in 1998, as they screened Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, they had firmly established their status as a premium Hindi movie releasing theatre. From then on they never had to look back in terms of changing the kind of movies to be released.
So why am I writing specifically about Apsara and not about any other theatre in Coimbatore? Well not only is the history mentioned earlier so interesting, I have also had a lot of interesting experiences over there over the years. The theatre in itself is an awesome structure and has one of the largest parking spaces that I have seen across theatres in India. But on the day KKHH released in 1998 there was a near stampede at night as people rushed to get in after a long wait outside the gates. On that day even the large parking space seemed to look insufficient
. The theatre also boasts of one of the largest balcony areas among theatres in India both in terms of space as well as the number of seats ( 500 +) . In fact the theatre has an odd incline in such a way that if you are sitting in one of the top rows of the balcony, you actually are looking down at the screen (the screen would be below eye level).
Another odd factor about the theatre has been its pricing. On various occasions the theatre was found to be the highest priced theatre in town. In the mid 1990’s when soft porn movies were still being played there, an Indo U.S co-production called Divine Lovers released there. Now for those unaware, Divine Lovers was an English movie set in India ( directed by B.Subash of Disco Dancer fame )with reincarnation theme and did very well in India especially in the South. At that time while tickets in all the other good theatres in the city were priced at around Rs.25, in case of Apsara it was at Rs.35. One particular Friday I was shocked to see an ad in the newspaper, the ad was of Apsara theatre and it boldly said ‘on the occasion of the successful completion of 75 days of Divine Lovers, we are pleased to inform our patrons that we have now reduced our ticket prices, so now come and enjoy the movie once again.’ The ticket prices were reduced from 35 to 25
Again when the AIADMK Government in T.N in the early 2000’s introduced flexi pricing of tickets ( in the first 2 weeks of release the theatres could charge a premium for the tickets and then revert back to original rates from the 3rd week onwards), Apsara was quick to take advantage of the situation. The theatre management felt that they had a loyal audience for the movies who wouldn’t mind paying a premium and so while the rest of the theatres charged around 40-50 for a balcony, the ticket rates in Apsara were at Rs.70 in the first 2 weeks of a movie’s release. This trend continued for quite some time till the DMK came to power in 2006 & decided to remove the flexi pricing system. I remember watching a lot of Hindi movies while in school like Hum,Ghayal,Dil etc over here. While in college a lot of ‘engrossing’ movies were also seen over here. Again with Hindi movies coming back in circulation there with DTPH, it became a popular place to go on dates. On many an occasion during the night show one would normally find most of my college friends over here (most of them drunk of course
) and since my folks were elsewhere I would also be there almost every week. So be it a Kareeb, Major Saab, Gharwali Baharwali etc I would be there for almost all movies.
I then moved out of Coimbatore after college and after a long time happened to get posted there on work in 2004-05 and again relived a lot of old memories. This time around I hardly had company as most of my old friends were no more in town and I was staying alone. So visiting Apsara Theatre became a regular weekend routine. Be it a Bunty aur Babli, No Entry, Page 3, Dus etc, I would be there as a regular bhakt visiting his favourite temple. It so happened that when Iqbal released to rave reviews I happened to be in Hyderabad for the weekend and somehow could not watch the movie there. I did not worry because I expected the movie to be playing in Apsara and so when I was back in town on Monday morning I was happy to know that I was right. On the way from the airport to my residence I was then dismayed to know that the movie was running only in the noon show and the afternoon show slots.
Now with the weekend already over I was feeling bad as I wondered what to do. That’s when the passion for cinema gained control over me. I actually ended up going straight from home to Apsara and watching Iqbal in the noon show and then going to work after lunch. Such was the attraction that the theatre had for me. Well in the journey of life, I relocated again but still tried to follow up and know what’s playing there once in a while. Some time later to my shock I got to know that like a lot of other single screen theatres across the country, Apsara too closed down in 2006/07. While some people say they would be opening soon as a renovated single screen/multiplex others say that there is a family dispute still going on. Till date the theatre is closed and for the sake of old memories and for the movie lovers in Coimbatore, I hope the management decides to re-open the theatre sometime soon.
Note- Whatever I’ve written is based upon my own experiences and this is not meant to promote Apsara Theatre in any way.
In the next part of the series I would be heading to Bangalore & covering some of my favourite theatres there.

Reading this post I was trying to imagine the Apsara theatre. Movie watching in a single screen theatres always has been much more enjoyable.
Wow..article that brings back pleasant memories back to me..I am from coimbatore and I can never erase Apsara theater from my memory because of this funny incident..
The year was 1997.. I was in my 12th class and our family had newly shifted to coimbatore. One sunday me and my two sisters found out by posters that a jackie chan movie “Mr.Nice Guy” was playing in a theater named Apsara, and without second thoughts we ended up there in an auto..The theater big, decent, crowded and we managed to get balcony tickets..
We were so surprised to find that my two sisters were the only females in the whole theater and we were making fun that maybe in coimbatore no girls watch movies in theater..and then a guy seated near me, upon realizing that I was there with my sisters, informed me that they normally used to show porn movies there..and to make things worse he told me that they might actually show some porn trailers or “bit”(don’t ask me what it means
) during the interval..(the theater is so big that I din’t even imagine that)
my god..the movie had already started and my sisters were enjoying it..I immediately ran to the operator room and explained him the situation…(asked him if they might show something in the interval, so I can tell some reasons like I was not feeling well and run away from the theater taking my sisters with me..)he then laughed at my plight..and then informed me that the theater had been bought by a lady from mumbai and they will never show those type of movies or trailers again..It was only after that I came back to normal..
To this day, my sisters say with amusement to some of our relatives that they happened to watch a movie in a crowded theater, being the only girls in the crowd..(without knowing the actual reason..), and I laugh within myself, thinking about that..
@ Jahanpanah- yes single screens have a magical quality about them which the multiplexes can never attain.
@ Karthik- aha! good to see somebody from C’tore over here.Which part of the city are you from?
And yes that was certainly a hilarious incident.Yes I forgot to add that the ownership had changed hands & probably that had an effect in the change in line of thought.
his wife and her lover, apsara theater, 1993
@Sethumadhavan
Yes. Whenever I’m in any city and I’ve to catch a movie I look for single screen theatres only but sadly with the advent of multiplexes the remaining of the theatres run pure mainstream stuffs and English movies are now nowhere to be seen in single screens acoss most parts of North India unless they are dubbed. The only English movie, I’ve seen in a single screen remains to be xXx.
Karthik?! What a funny story!!
Sethu ji, i’m sure that I have that damn ‘Divine Lovers’ on my ‘Samay’ dvd!
And how come u haven’t reviewed ‘Ayan’??
I wanted to discuss!
Never been to Coimbatore. Waiting for your Bangalore edition.
@ Dabba: it must hv been “the cook, the thief, his wife, and her lover”. LOL
@ Sethu: great follow-up to ur priya, kolkata write-up. apsara and its sof-porn escapades, coupled with kaartik’s experience makes it a fun read…
ah…Divine Lovers! i never managed to find its DVD or any downloadable version anywhere. can anyone give pointers to where I can find it?
another movie i am trying to find online and on DVD is “SIROCCO” the soft porn blockbuster of 1988! it was the first movie of its genre that ran for 25 weeks+ in Hyderabad!
@ Dabba- yeah there are lots of movies I have fond memories of like the one you’ve mentioned
@ Andy- Steve seems to have the DVD of Divine Lovers with him
@ Steve- yes will write on Ayan & maybe Ananda Thandavam too shortly.
@ Jha- thanx, hope to continue the flow with B’lore in the next part.
@ skd- Yes B’lore edition will be out soon
Andy, try looking for ‘Samay’s dvd!
For some BIZZARE reason, ‘Divine Lovers’ is part of the package!
@Sethu: I am from coimbatore, but now employed in bangalore. House is at a village in coimbatore, 15 kms from Gandhipuram.(near thudiyalur in MTP road, if you know..)
@steve, Satyendra Jha: Thanks.
The funniest part was that, the guy sitting near me had actually come to watch Mr.Nice Guy, thinking it was a porn flick and he was actually expecting some stuff to be played during the interval.. ha ha..(After the movie was over, he would have surely cursed his luck for waste of time and money
Actually I have so many more hilarious incidents related to my movie watching experience in theaters, which I would love to share, but my English is not good enough to write articles in PFC..Maybe if I find an article related to that I can share some of those in comments section..
@ Karthik- yes I know Thudiyalur quite well.I have a fairly good idea of Coimbatore btw.In fact all the cities that I will write about in this series have been home to me @ some time or the other & I know them very well.So do feel free to share more such incidents in my other forthcoming articles in this series.
@ Steve- which company has made this Samay+Divine Lovers Combo on DVD?I mean is it a regular brand like Shemaroo,Eros,Moser Baer etc?
Karthik?!
I seriously disagree with u!
Ur English is perfect!
And, even if it wasn’t (which isn’t the case) there’s no reason to deprive us the joy of reading ur stories :-)
I hope u do write more about ur experiences.
Sethu? erm?
I think it was some Jabaar Ltd company! hee hee!
What actually happened was that ‘Samay’ wasn’t available here and one random day, I saw it for sale in a market stall!
It’s most definitely a dodgy company!
Jabaar?!!
What a name!!
Karthikji
Your anecdote was hilarious.:D
@ Steve- that was exactly my doubt & it proves I’m right
Actually Divine Lovers even had people like Marc Zuber,Hemant Birje,Tom Alter etc apart from a few B/C grade Hollywood stars.and music was by Bappida
Haha!
Sethu, atleast i’d understand if it were ‘Samay’ and ‘Woh Kaun Thi’ or ‘Jaani Dushman’ jaisi killer-revenge type film.
But this lover-shover business??!
I mean, who decides on that??!
Is there some person who thinks,
”Hmmm, what does SAMAY lack? erm? Sex!
So let’s stick this in!
Ta-da!” Lol…
As Govinda would say, ”It happens only in india!” :-)
@ Steve yaara- well I’m not sure on the
” It happens only in India” theme here- looks like the DVD has been made outside India LOL
But seriously I guess there’s no content manager out there.Jo bhi mila daal diya.Pata chala ki you have Sholay with Saamri- now that be the biggest joke of all
‘Saamri’?! Lol!
Man, I really dig that film!
Ramsay bhai, ZINDABAD! :-)
Nice Post…reviving my memories of the city. The last movie I watched in Apsara was Twin Dragons(again a Jackie Chan movie). Never had a chance to watch softporn movies there :-( . I still remember Divine Lovers running for 100 days. After some years bunch of us would roam around that area since they used to play hindi movies and lots of ’settu figures’ will be coming but never watched a hindi movie there. But Sethu I had the same passion for Ragam theatre(KG) that too when they play Rajnikanth’s movie. I was so loyal to that theatre that I would never watch Rajni movie in any other theatre till I see that in Ragam.Even though now relocated to Chennai my passion for single screen still continues here :-)
@Sethu, Steve: Thanks…
Here is one of those incident, which makes me laugh even today when I think about that..
This happened in “KG” theater in coimbatore..The movie was “Arunachalam”(Rajini). I was in the theater, the first day, alone.(My dad had managed to get a ticket, because some tickets for the first day was sold by Lions club for some charity, and he got one)..Needless to say, the theater was jam-packed and I sneaked myself into my seat, soaked in sweat. There was still some 10 mins before the movie would start..I was alone, so I started a conversation with the guy seated near me.. After the initial “hi”..this is the conversation that took place between us..(It was in tamil)
Him: Nowadays the quality of tamil movies have come down so much that I have stopped watching tamil movies..Most of them are horrible you know with needless heroism, bad story and screenplay, horrible acting n all..
Me(In my mind): Then why are you here in theater for the first day..
Him(as if he read my mind): I came to this movie because of Rajini, u know, but sure I will be disappointed..
Then I thought, okay, there is still some 10 mins or so for the movie..let us talk to him about good movies he had seen..
Me: Yes.. have to agree with you..even I watched a great movie “Shawshank redemption” recently.. We can’t expext such movies in tamil..For a movie like that and “Forest Gump” and all to me made in tamil, it will take atleat another 20 years or so..Our audience are still not ready for those type of movies, u know..
Him: Yeah.. I haven’t seen that yet, but I happened to watch “Police Story” a couple of days back.. amazing..after watching the movie, I felt really bad about tamil film industry.
Me: Oh..How can you even expect movies like that in tamil..which part did u see?
Him: Aah, I dint know there were so many parts, I think I saw the latest..
Me: Oh..the first part is the best…I watched it when i was a kid…watch it if you can..
Him: Yeah, will try..U know, after watching mvoies like that, tell me, how can you watch tamil movies?
Me: Come on..You are being too demanding..Leave out tamil, even in hollywood movies, you cannot have stunt scenes like that..
Him: Yes..yes… I was very impressed u know…particularly the climax fight…I was wondering why the directors can’t pay to heroes like that and make them act in tamil movies instead of paying very huge money to our tamil heroes..
Me(In my mind..speechless): Is this guy a moron.? How is he expecting tamil directors to pay Jackie Chan and make him act in a tamil movie..
Me: Are you serious??? Man.. you are one of the most optimistic person, I have ever talked to..
Him: Why not..I am sure “Sai Kumar” will act in tamil, if they pay him, even half of what they paid to rajni for this movie..
Me: Sai kumar?? who is he??
Him: Oh..see u dont know good actors like him.. He is the hero of that movie..
Me: Aaaaaaah.. What movie are u talking abt?
Him: “Police story”….a telugu movie dubbed in tamil.. It is running in “Muthu” theater now..
Me(In my mind): DAAAAAAAAIIIIII….. (and a few bad words in tamil)
Thank God..Movie started after that..needless to say, I was laughing like hell within myself, without concentrating on “Arunachalam”.. In interval, I just could not stop laughing, and when he asked me why I was laughing too much, I just told him I was enjoying “Arunachalam”…
It is experiences like this we miss out in multiplexes today..
Karthik!
Romba Super Sirrika Story!
Yeah, I know my Tamil doesn’t make sense, but I think u know what I mean!
Some of the funniest (and annoying) situations can come from a cinema hall!
‘Police Story’! Haha haha…
@ Arvind-
Yes Rajnikanth & KG complex had a great connection.Baasha ran for a year over there.BTW do you know that now KG which was earlier a cineplex has now become a multiplex- its now called KG Big Cinemas !!!
@ Karthik- nice story again & I liked the twist in the end.BTW this Sai Kumar has been doing police movies for quite some time in Telugu & Kannada and quite a lot of them have been dubbed in Tamil too
BTW Muthu theatre got demolished a few years ago.Sadly single screen theatres are now in danger !!!
Steve- yeah there are lots of such stories & I’m sure we’ll recollect them in my series.
@Karthik….LOL…cannot stop laughing…
@Steve.. Thanks!! yes..understood
@Sethu: I was also sad for Muthu theatre. Actually when I was employed at cbe, my office was very close to Muthu..so have watched many movies there..(the best was “basic instincts”)
One more unique thing we can experience only in single screen theaters and not in multiplexes, is the comments being thrown at casually by some fun loving guys..(Most of the time they might be annoying, but some would be real gems).
Here is one such gem, which I happened to hear while watching “Sholay” at “Kalpana Theater” in Coimbatore(a relatively small theater at “Kovumdampalayam”).
“Aanalum Gabbar romba koduma kaaran da..Thakur pondaatiya konuttu, rendu kaiiyayum vettitaaan. Paavam Thakur..enna thaan pannuvaaaru..”
(Gabbar is really cold blooded..He killed Thakur’s wife and to make things worse, chopped off both his hands as well..Pity on Thakur.)
@Ram: Thanks.. Would love to hear incidents like this, if any, from you as well..
@ Karthik- I’m aware of Kalpana theatre.Thats a good anecdote again.BTW if I’m not wrong I think Kalpana screend new tamil releases these days if I’m not wrong, a lot of theatres in the periphery areas like Koundampalayam,Periyanaickapalayam,Singanallur,Podanur etc have all become release theatres now in Coimbatore & making up for those theatres like Muthu,Geethalaya etc which are no more.BTW Carnatic theatre ( a very old theatre@ Town Hall ) which was playing old movies has been renovated and nowadays mainly plays Hindi,English & Malayalam. There’s even a multiplex called Maharaja Multiplex which is located inside a theme park ( Maharaja’s ) and is again outside the main city.
@sethu- Yeah..you are correct..I think the main reason behind it is because of TV. Just 15 years back or so, in my village our house of one of the three or four that had a television.(An old B/W crown TV). Almost half of my village would be seated in our verrandah on friday night (oliyum oliyum) and sunday evening to watch a movie, when Doordharshan was the only channel available. Today almost all houses in my village has a TV (after DMK had that election winning free TV scheme), and by average the channels show atleast 10 movies a day.
In those days, in my village theater(demolished now), they used to change a movie every thursday, and I still remember the days when we used to wait with anxiety to see the new poster, to find out if it is a movie we can go and watch..It was only 15 years back, but looks like the past century now!!
Karthik! Lol!
That reminded me of ‘Jhankaar Beats’ when Rahul Bose says something on those lines!
Bechara thaakur!
Gabbar ka torture saari zindagi yaad rakhega!
Who’d have thought!!
Karthik, that ‘DAIIIII..’ episode is hilarious…you sure were struck out on that one…
@karthik – gabbarwaala incident requires a separate post on the post modernist motifs and themes hidden in various layers of sholay – I deeply encourage thee!!
am i the only one that doesn’t have rose-tinted memories from their youth? i hated coimbatore, hated single screen theaters, and the mad jostling for tkts, the rude interruptions, the fear of protecting the women with you. i hated kovai with all my heart until i moved to an even shittier town. coimbatore seemed like paradise.
Here goes one funny anecdote from my end & it involves Apsara Theare again.Sometime in 1991 when I was just into my teens, there was an Amitabh Bachchan movie called Akayla which released. As mentioned in my article at that time Apsara was well into its soft porn avatar & used to once in a while try to get back to Hindi movies. So one day while I was cycling across the city & happened to watch the posters of the movie- I was thrilled.Being a Big B fan I was in ecstacy and immediately realised that I am in the vicinity of the theatre and was right in time for the noon show to get over.So unable to resist myself I positioned myself @ the back gate of the theatre and asked a few people coming out about how the movie was.Everyone gave me quizzical looks & somebody said its a disappointment.I was deeply dejected and when I went across to the front entrance I realised that the movie playing was a soft porn movie & not Akayla. It was a thursday then & Akayla was to release the next day- a friday ( of course that Akayla wasnt exactly a gr8 movie is another story altogether).
Steve, ha ha.. I had missed “Jhankaar Beats”..(because of my lack of Hindi, which I am now slowly improving upon..)Ha ha..burst out laughing seeing those words in that context.. You wont believe, but I saw and liked sholay, even without understanding a single word of hindi. Saw that movie, out of curiosity, because of what my Dad had told me about it. Two other movies, which I thought I must see, but could never, till today are “Bobby” and “Kurbaani”.(Hope I have spelt it correctly..)
Dabba- Too bad that you really didnt enjoy your stay@ Coimbatore.I would always look back with fond memories of that place.BTW where did you move on from C’tore?I’m seriously interested to know
@ Karthik- its Qurbani ( q instead of k).yes you must watch Bobby & Qurbani someday.Good to know you are improving your Hindi
Yes Steve the Jhankar Beats joke is very similar. In fact both Sanjay Suri & Rahul Bose keep quizzing each other on Sholay in the movie as both are big Sholay fans in it.
Sethu, ha ha ha.. that was a very funny incident. I would have laughed to death, if I happened to be the person taking questions from you..
Consider yourself lucky, that you din’t ask specific questions like “How was the heroine’s acting?”.. “Does the hero die after climax?”..etc..
karaikudi. i ran away after 1 month.
@Sethu34 and Kathik38…too good..LOL..’Did the hero die after climax?’….ha ha..
@ Dabba- Karaikudi? Well compared to it Coimbatore is like NYC then
did you happen to join Alagappa Chettiar University there by any chance?
@ Karthik- yeah I still can’t help but laugh
at my “innocent questions” then asked
Wow! Karthik, ur like the South version of me!
Or i’m the North version of u
I thought I was the only one who went along and watched films in a different language without subs!
The Tamil films don’t have subs here, so I have to make my own dialogues up!
@Arthi, ha ha, the actual conversation we had was much more hilarious. Actually, I had talked to him on that day about Akira, Hitchcock n all, without realizing he was referring to a dubbed movie
Din’t write all that, fearing it might take more space than this nice post.
Steve, good to know I have a companion
Steve,Karthik- kahin tum donon mele mein bichde hue bhai to nahin????
( are you long lost brothers who got seperated @ a fair?
)
Karthik- Kurosowa,Hitchcock et all- romba overappa
Sethu, AAMAA thambi :-)
Seriously isn’t this amazing??
I don’t know a soul here who goes and watches films in a different language, and then we have Karthik from the South?!
Gawwwd!
And then there was Sourav on the MPK post!
Amazing!
Steve- it happens only in PFC
ha ha..maybe we must be having a “family song” that would re-unite us one day.. Steve, one fine day, if you happen to locate a helpless guy, singing “yaadhon ki bharaath” in delhi railway station, it is me
Sethu, ha ha.. yes..rombave over thaan.. I was telling him that we need directors who can think differently like them, to improve tamil industry.. ha ha..
Kurosowa n Hitchcock ????? Oh man..Karthik..I seriously cant stop laughing…What an exp….
And these are not irrelev to the snippet you put in Karthik…How could you exclude this??
Arthi, ha ha.. for the fear of the prospect of becoming “a newbie who posted the largest comment” on PFC
@Karthik, I had a similar experience when I went to watch Sphere in Sathyam theatre, chennai in first row (10 rs ticket), the guy next to me had come for the movie for sharon stone, while I had walked in expecting Dustin hoffman, Sam Jackson and Michael Crichton, while I was enjoying the serious part, he was all tears at the ‘travesty of injustice ‘ wreacked upon him by a docile and straghtforward sharon stone who had kept all her instincts in check for the movie.
@ Jai- well I pity the poor guy
Well I’ve had a literal feast on the 10 Rs. ka ticket @ Sathyam complex- will write more when I write about Chennai experiences.
@ Karthik- yes the family song idea looks good.Maybe I can be the catalyst who brings you & Steve closer
@ Arthi- yeah such experiences need to get treasured
‘Family song’?! Hahahaha!
Now i’ll have to get to Delhi train station to meet my brother!
And fear not, Karthik, I think I posted the most ridiculously L-O-N-G comments ages ago about my a.r.rahman experience!
And I really think ur comments are most welcome over ‘ere mate, OOPS, ‘bhaiya’! Lol
I agree, SethuMaharaja!
