the Myth
an adventure of 2 lifetimes
Stanley Tong’s big-budget epic “The Myth” brings out the best of Jackie Chan the Actor, and
still has lots of prop combat and comedy fights that we all know and love. Jackie describes The
Myth as more like an Indiana Jones film. In the movie Jackie plays Qin-era Chinese General
named Meng-Yi who is seen in flashbacks, while the present day has Jackie playing a modern
day archaeologist on an adventure shot on location in several countries, spanning China,
Korea, and India, all in the search for the missing tomb of Qin dynasty Emperor. General
Meng-Yi is an honor bound warrior torn between his loyalty to the Qin Emperor and his growing
emotions for Princess Ok-soo a Korean princess he’s charged with protecting. Throw in
mysterious stones that create levitation, an immortality pill, lavish sets and costumes, a 2000
year long romance, palace intrigue, epic battle scenes with thousands of extras, and extremely
funny action-comedy and we have a recipe for a fun, exciting action adventure movie perfect for
the whole family…….
Jackie Chan’s
Dragon’s Heart Charity
Did you know that when Jackie isn’t making movies, he is very busy working to help other
people, especially children? The goal of the Dragon’s Heart Foundation is to provide
educational opportunity for children in remote areas of China. Over a dozen schools have been
built or are in the process of being built since the Foundation began its work. In these remote
areas, children often live very far from schools and since there is no transportation, they are
unable to attend. Some children live closer, but cannot pay the yearly school fee (about US $9).
Others are forced to work rather than attend school. Dragon’s Heart tries to build schools in
central locations to make them available to as many children as possible. The Foundation also
provides warm clothing and school supplies if needed. It is called Build a School For a Dollar.
You may wonder how anyone – even Jackie – could build a whole school for a dollar. Of course
no one can. But you can if you put your dollar together with someone else’s dollar …..
Swami Nithyananda
One of the great story threads in The Myth is that it touches on all aspects of Asian mysticism and
even features a scene where Jackie’s character unknowingly proves an Indian mystic to be
false…..we are blessed and lucky to have a real life mystic, Swami Nithyananda, a true
enlightened Indian master, to attend our event. To help touch base with oneself is the core of his
mission. Offering a gamut of social services worldwide, he enriches the daily lives of hundreds of
thousands of people, and provides healing at the physical, mental, and spiritual levels. Life Bliss
Foundation is a worldwide movement for meditation and healing founded by Nithyananda, run
100% by volunteers. With 1,000 centers and 78 ashrams in 33 countries the foundation works
towards transformation of humanity and global peace through transformation of the individual and
among other social services provides free medical clinics, food for the poor in India and the
surrounding region
