Cant wait for this…have been hearing about this for a long time.
Seems interesting, could give it a watch for Bryan Singer, but again it seems more like Staffenberg as Tom Cruise, rather than other way around.
True Ratnakar..Tom Cruise is too overpowering for character Staffenberg..but they look sorta similar from what I remember of History Channel docu.
The promos do look interesting. And considering Bryan Singer’s track record, The Usual Suspects, X Men( let’s forget Superman Returns please), this could be really worh a watch. I just hope it does not end up as a Hollywood version of History.
One thing i hope is that the movie does not end up glorifying Stauffenberg and the officers as heroes. Most of them had no problems with Nazism and Hitler, as long as they were winning the war, they had no issues. They started to plot against Hitler, when the war started to go real bad in Russia. Basically the fiasco of Operation Barbossa was what motivated them.
And BTW Tom Cruise seems to be putting in a decent performance at least in promos. I just hope it does not become a case of Stauffenberg as Tom Cruise. All in all, would watch this movie, since i am a sucker for any WW2 movies stuff.
Saurav, yes i guess that was why Bryan Singer, went for Cruise. BTW, Germany wanted a ban on this movie, due to Cruise’s Scientology views.
But from what i seen in the Promos, Cruise does seem to have fit in the role. Also one thing is under a really good director like Michael Mann( Collateral), Martin Scorcese( Color of Money), Cameron Crowe( Jerry McGuire), Stanley Kubrick( Eyes Wide Shut) Cruise has been tolerable. So am counting on that.
