WATCHMEN and comic based movies

We got to see the trailer of Watchmen during the Dark Knight show last weekend. The Dark Knight by the way has set a new box office record of earning over a 155 million dollars over the weekend. Back to Watchmen, it’s the latest in comic-based movies and to give you an idea of what Hollywood is focusing on these days, here’s Wired’s article on all the upcoming movies that are based on comic books… pretty exhaustive a list!     Yeah. The trailer sounds very interesting. Interestingly, I’d just started reading the book. The Watchmen is considered to be graphic novel more than a comic because of the various themes it deals with. In fact it is considered a serious piece of literature.

    Btw. I also found it interesting that the Smashing Pumpkin’s ‘The Beginning is the end is the Beginning’ track is part of the soundtrack/trailer, because a faster version of the same song was used in Batman and Robin.
